Urgent help

First off, truck has been black smoking for a while. Completely stock, had a manual regen done and was told I had no issues. It did a regen the other day fine, now today, maybe 15 miles after the first one if did it again and instantly threw the engine light and lost power.
Need to ****** it asap but can't afford mega bucks on a tuner, I've been laid off for four months and I'm only just back to work so I'm playing catch up.
Does anyone have experience with the Gearboxz ***-R ****** only box? Just to get me through until cash flow is better? Truck is an 08 with 50,000 miles on it and I get the impression my problems have just begun!

I have installed one a customer brought, and had a truck come in with one already installed. Both seemed to work just fine.

You could have another issue causing the d p f to become clogged. Might check into that problem after you dlete it

Yeah I'm getting P2084 exhaust temp sensor. I'll replace it while I'm under there. It has had black tail pipes from soot the last few 1000 miles which makes me think the d p f is cracked. Cleared codes and took it for a long hard run just now and it still says its cleaning the filter.

that tool should work just fine, lotsa folks run them.

Definitely look into other things causing problems though.

I'm sure the problem is short runs. New job is only 4 miles from the house. Truck is lucky to do 50 miles a week. The short runs are killing it, but I need it for the times I have to tow. Hopefully once ******d it'll be fine. Can most ****** pipes fit with a standard exhaust?
