Alright guys im very new to the AE. just got it a couple days ago and was playing around with it. i have the ford enhanced so i can do everything i believe. my question is would data logging a couple runs and sending them to a tuner better help him get my new single shot injectors dialed in better? and if so what parameters would want to be logged and how? WOT runs going through the gears? 0-60? idle? cold or hot? thanks yall.
and if yall can think of some cool things to do with the ae let me know!

a good tuner will...!

Johnathan, my tuner from No Limit asked me to send a couple data logs to square off a couple items.
its better than calling and say hey, my truck does this, fix it.....

Explain in detail what your after, send a screen shot of where you believe you need the changes.
idle
throttle response
shift adjustments
too much smoke...
these are a few items that can be adjusted by looking at the data. Next best thing to a live tune.

huh mabey i'm looking at the logs I made wrong? but it took me a total of about 5 minutes to look over the logs I made. Now my logs were only about 30 seconds of run time each but it was easy?

I save my logs and it goes to my documents and saves as an excel spreadsheet. how do I go about saving them or looking at them later as the graph like it shows up on the ae program as your making the runs?

and to Golfer.... if I get a set of your singles would sending you a data log of what you mentioned help you on tuning the truck better? or is it just a waste of everyone involeds time? thanks

I would get injectors and tunes, then log to see whats what as alot of th data info will change.
Some guys get tweaks 3 or 4 times before there happy.

that's what I'm talking about, putting some injectors in and then data logging so the tuner can tune it spot on! if I lived closer to a tuner that I'd trust I would just get it live tuned. Right now I'm just playing around with it seeing what I can do with the program and how to read what the data logs are saying to me.

gotcha

seems reasonable ,, some tuners never got back to Me on a stock truck concern
others like Gearheads and Tony have

and now that You mention it Matt did say if I sent him a data log He would see if my Boost was low for my newly installed studs ,, but I am a slacker and didn't LOL

I played around on it. but I couldn't get the manifold absolute pressure(boost) to read over 36ish psi... so actually 22 psi boost because - 14.0 form atmospheric pressure on the AE(when I was actually making 34psi on my guage ) im guessing because the stock map sensor doesn't read over 22psi boost? but everything else looks good....

just for those curious my highest data log numbers were ICP 3200 psi at 34 psi boost and 71% injector duty cycle and 4.68 ms pulse width that was all at around 3100 rpms

only thing that seems odd to me is the 4.68 MS pulse width... seems like that is keeping that injector open for a very long time...

Not trying to sound like a dick but you think a tuner is going to take all that time to read through all those data logs?

yup, jonathan has asked me a million times if i could just get him data logs, he could tune it better... then i said f it and drove to TN for a live tune session.
why ya gotta be a dik man!:D

was that ipr (HPO) DC... 71% ?
and was the 3200 psi, demand or actual.... 3200 actual is pretty darn good.

Data log brings alot into perspective !

3200psi is good, but 71% duty cycle isn't. How many miles on the HPOP and injectors? And like stated above, was that actual or demanded?

As stated before 71% is too high. Anything over 40% and you need something adjusted.

4.68ms would be enough time to push probably 180cc through a stock nozzle. Considering AD's only push 150 you can see part of the problem.

But at 3100RPM you are getting no where near 4.68 ms anyway. Not even close.

The Icp was actual. 3200 was the peak as was injector duty cycle. I'm running stock ad injectors and stock hpop.

this is how my data log saved? how do I save it as the graph like it shows up in the AE software?

also my truck is a 6 speed so this run was going up through the gears from 2nd to 6th. kind of easy on the throttle in 2nd and 6th due to road conditions. but I think its hard to get anything because im lifting off the throttle every gear change

to get a good reading on HPOP get your truck in top gear going about 50 MPH ... hit record on AE then mash the go peddle to the floor till your at top speed ...you dont want any shifting while your testing...

so is that 3200 at the peak spike, or is that where it leveled off at?

tim, fwiw my pump runs 2980psi at 65-69% dc during wot runs in the hottest setting i have.... been that way since Johnathan live tuned it at beans a couple years ago now.

probably spike.. ill try it again... i was doing it wrong. ill try it in 4th gear and roll into it hard from 1500 rpms to 3200 or so. without shifting or lifting. that should give me a much better reading.
