Vacuum Pump Problems

So my pump went out yesterday. 3rd one in about 2 years, Im kinda thinking now that I could have a vacuum leak somewhere causing the pump to run more than it should and burn up. Anyone else ever have this? If thats the issue how to I test it now that my pump is out? Or just go ahead and get a new one then start checking things? This is getting frustrating...
