Well Wayne, it sounds like you have the kind of luck I do, which means I'd have to go stage 3. I assume then it's pretty much all or nothing when it comes to putting in billet parts?

Dave

It certainly makes sense to go all out. If you do the billet intermediate, then it will split the planetary under stress...

Parts that are designed to work together are best suited to be of the same strength.

Well just an update on my truck. Turns out I got lucky and just broke the input shaft. Only bad thing is the piece of shaft that broke off in the converter won't come out so I've gotta send it in to precision. Jared at RCD hooked me up with a billet input shaft.

I may have missed it amongst the cat fights, but what is the price for the stages of transmissions? What's included?

I'm very aware of how awesome your stuff is. Unfortunately the inside of my wallet doesn't look the same as yours. My bars are in great non-bent, paid for shape, and if they ever bend, I'm sure I'll straighten, reinforce, and reinstall them. I've got to be saving up for a new set of tires before the snow flies, and hope in the near future to get my 6.4 conversion under way for the wife's excursion, so upgrading my traction bars are no where near the top of my list.

Thanks to guys like you Mike, I get to work on the best of the best stuff just about all day, every day. Test drives are great, and installing top notch parts is just as cool, but a reality check reminds me It's not in the cards to do more than what I'm already doing. The important thing is that we're having fun, and I am. I'm especially glad that when the trans took a dump, I was only 4 miles from home, and 15 miles from the shop instead of half way across the country with no tools or parts.

I guess the best part of this break down is another perfect opportunity for a justified upgrade:rockon:
