I'm in the need for a wastegate setup and new up-pipes for my company truck. Factory up-pipes just started leaking shortly after getting the level 3 Spartan license. It's been getting a workout in the 310 tune. LOL

My question is would it be easier to pull the tranny or lift the cab to install these items? Keep in mind pulling the tranny is more feasible for me. Would I be able to even install the wastegate setup with just the tranny out?

What would you guys recommend for a setup? Any vendors feel free to PM me offers. Looking for a intake elbow setup and IC pipe as well.

Thanks

Don't need to pull the tranny or anything? I called the dealer just to see how they would replace the uppipes and they said they remove the tranny. And I talked to Ben at Rudy's and he laughed when I said I'd like to do it cab on. LOL

No one wants to do it that way buts its doable and been done, like I said its not easy nor fun but could save you some dough.

Do you have a lift or access to one? If so pull the cab. Royal PITA cab on

I do not have a lift. I could probably have access to one but I wouldn't want to tie up someone's bay if I were to run into a snag or something. I will buy one eventually but this project will most likely be done without one hopefully.

WE did it in the bowling green parking lot, it wasnt alot of fun thats for sure, i would recomend pulling the turbos and then pulling the up-pipes, can be done cab on and with the transmission in place, It CAN be done with the trubos in, but the fuel cooler and alot of bull **** hass to be moved.

ONe thing i would also recomend is cutting the egr pipe.

HOWEVER you can run the wastegate in place of the lower egr cooler with WOP wastegate kit.

tranny out makes it easier to get to the bolts behind the turbo. but cab off makes you keep the profanity to a minimum.

also, drop some coin on some studs:poke:

Has anyone got any reviews on WOP's kit? Is it just an open dump? I already got rid of the EGR coolers and such (cab on) so mounting WOP's kit would be rather simple. But I do still need to replace the drivers side up-pipe at a minimum.

it dumps to atmosphere, seams to work well if the gate is dialed right, since you have all that stuff out of the way that uppipe shouldnt be bad at all.

I would just do the drive pipe and a gate it probably will live
