ive done a cab off with some redneck enginuity. im tempted to do studs, intake and exhaust manis and up pipes cab on. been reading the instructional threads. dont see how jacking up the trans and engine provides clearance for studs. anyways i bet it feels real good.

It just rocks the engine and changes the angle for the one bolt on the passenger side head to get the torque wrench on there in an easaier way to torque it.

Actually you cant get the back two studs on the passenger side and the back one on the driver side out with out jacking up on the trans. If you're doing manis, save yourself the head ache and just pull the heads. Give you a chance to inspect the pistons and I haven't heard of great success with doing studs one at a time. The passenger manifold would be a pain in the azz to get out heads on.

I think i could do the exhaust manifolds. Its the up pipe bolts that look unreachable. Being fat and short doesnt help.

I had to lay on the engine to reach them. Bruises on my chest and stomach to prove it too haha but the bolts aren't too bad. Good quality 6 pont 10mm turbo or 1/2 moon wrench will really help you out.

I spent enough on tools leading up to it I had to draw a line somewhere. Besides I have enough cover alls to bunched up that once I figured out where to put them it wasn't bad at all.

I took an old weight bench from my neighbor and welded up a "custom" creeper when I did my studs.

I will be getting one in the future but visits to the snap on truck get expensive. Torque wrenches and such. Had to but the crane, floor jack and stands (not snap on) to remove my tired to get the crane close enough. It was just adding up. And chicks dig scars haha

Its far worse when one of your close buddies decides to become a snap on man.

Cant go to his house without spending a crap ton of $ anymore LOL

Topside creepers are the **** I have three. But if you don't want one hit up snap on or matco. They sell a thick foam pad the length of your body that's 25 dollars. Works pretty good and alot cheaper.
