This. Sounds like you have bigger problems with your injectors. Your 66 will cruise at those temps, that's normal for that setup. Lack of boost at cruising speeds from the larger charger.
On the other hand, hitting 1600 easily doesn't sound right. When that 66 lights it shouldn't shoot quickly up to 1600° with your capacity and nozzle setup.
I don't see tuning being much of an issue because that charger should clean up those 175/75's all day at full fuel.
Who's injectors? Does the truck move good at WOT? How is the smoke at WOT?
Anyone ever heard of crazy temps when the setup is too lean?
