I have been highly advised against purchasing chrome/PVD due to them pitting etc rather quickly. What is consensus here? How about polished? If yours are holding up post up what you have (brand/model/finish).

Somewhere down in Texas..
I've ran several sets of chrome wheels, and never had an issue. I'm in Texas though, and don't have salt and whatnot to contend with. My next wheels on my truck, however, will NOT be chrome...nor black.

Polished is sexy. Deeper shine than chrome and you can workout any scratches with elbow grease.

I've been looking at those raceline renegades as well. I like the fact that they are 18x10 when most polished wheels are 18x9.

I know Wesley Beech has some on his truck.

I've seen another truck on here that has them, I forget who though. Hopefully they'll chime in.

I love the polished look. Just wish I had gone with 18's instead of 16's.

The renegades got a long hard look from me when I was thinking about dropping the ass end of my regular cab a little. I think 10" would be a little too wide though.

Honestly, both options suck. All chrome wheels these days are junk and WILL pit, unless you very rarely drive the truck and/or immediately wash off any brake dust that you see building up (I wash my truck once every week or two at the most and that wasn't enough to stop pitting).

Polished on the other hand will hold up better, but you have to polish them to get them to shine like chrome, which is a LOT of work.

Black wheels are the best option, but unfortunately I think they only look good on the right trucks.

Ya I think I'm going with them, priced nicely and have good reviews from other forums I found. Any of you help with fitment? 18x10 -12 offset 5in back spacing on 35x1250x18 on a 01 with 4in lift

That will fit nicely. My brother has an 04 with the same setup but a 6" and they look small.

That's the truck I was thinking of.

It was a rough winter in the northeast for sure. Curious to see how they'll polish out.

Ill let ya know, its still in the shop... my bosses polished wheels on his jetta were WAY worse and we did some wetsanding and polishing and they look great again. Just have to keep them polished up...and i also neglected to put any wax or something on them for the winter. Probably gonna look for an extra set of tires for my stock wheels for this winter. I love my wheels though, not a fan of all the popular bmf and whatnot wheels..these are a little different and look great

i bought this at harbor freight for $20, seems like a nice kit and it has great reviews

3m has a green 3000 grit sand paper (it's more spongey) that works wonders. Also if you're ever going to buy a tool the Meguiars tool is wayyy better than the mother's powerball.

I'll have to try that out. I have the small mothers ball. Seems to work alright.

What are you guys using for polish?
