So I have recently done a turbo rebuild and made sure it was done right. Then after it, when it's cold it will blow blue smoke till warm then when warm it will blow whitish/blue smoke when I get on it!! Has really got me stumped. I'm thinking maybe worn injectors. But not sure. Any opinions would be awesome thanks!!

The smoke could come from few sources, so Im not really sure what you are saying here. Was there something wrong with the turbo to require the rebuild, or were you trying to fix the smoking issue with the turbo repair?

Have you had it on a scanner? Checked the compression? Confirmed the cooling system is sealed? How does it sound? Run smooth, or is the idle choppy? Have good fuel pressure?

Sorry for all the questions, but need to understand where you've been with your troubleshooting. If you've not done those things on a 225K+ motor, then its probably not a good idea to jump to injectors yet.

No it was blowing blue smoke before the turbo rebuild pretty bad. So I had it rebuilt and it still is blowing blue smoke. Even when idling. Which is weird. I have checked compression and it is good!! And I haven't had a scanner on it yet. I don't have a scanner but maybe I will have to find one. It runs smooth the idle is kindof loud but I think it's supposed to be loud. And I'm not sure on fuel pressure. Don't have any way to check it. I mean the truck when it's warm has a hard time starting but I don't know if this could be the same issue or multiple. And I am consuming oil. Thanks for the reply!!

Gotcha-- sounds like youve been spending some time with it. There are a couple of test ports on the fuel bowl for testing fuel pressure with a 0-100 gauge. Having a scan gauge, a phone OBD app, auto enginuity, etc is helpful if you want to keep track of these engines.

If the turbo fix didnt correct oil consumption, then I'd agree that tired injector orings could be very possible. Is the fuel filter black? It will show the oil mixing with the fuel also. If you have original injectors, theyve likely got broken parts (springs, etc.) so youd be better off just doing a full set.

Ya I have been spending some time on it!! So I have thought about the orings and I checked my fuel filter and its as clear as clear. Which doesn't make sense. Could this still be injectors??

So I checked the oil yesterday to see how bad it was burning because it has been blowing white and blue smoke bad. And I have not burned any oil whatsoever. Which is making me believe it's something else now. What do you guys think??

Building crank pressure is a good one. We're just trying to come up with other areas to be sure. Are you losing any coolant or needing to top it off? if so, then a pressure test would be good.

A hard start when warm often points to high pressure oil leakage. Have you ever changed the IPR orings? If those are recent and good, the injector orings would be next. Then, and with no other immediate answer to the smoke issues, you're likely looking at injectors.

K sounds good. I will check it out. Could it really put out that much smoke if it was gummed up??
yeah. if ccv is blocked and not freeflowing it has to go somewhere.. and that somewhere is usually out of the turbo seals... but now that I read that the smoke burns your eyes in the morning then thstz raw fuel... no good.. poor compression, poor hpo parts, or poor injectors... or chitty tunes... I have been told that mor idle timing could take care of my cold start smoke but it doesnt bother me any...

No I am not losing any coolant at all. And I just had a t500 hpop put in so that all should be pretty new right?? I have a dp-tuner on it maybe that's what's wrong. Or maybe my injectors are bad. My compression is great. No blowby whatsoever.
