2001 Excursion... 160/0, 38R, intake, exhaust and tuning... PMT PCM and pickup motor harness.

Gets 16.5 no matter what you do, drives perfect, have taken it all across the country with 2-3 kids.

350hp and the safest rig you could put your family in. Weight wins and 8200# + is alot of weight.

Nope... Staying just the way it is...

Had tinted headlights for a while but you could not see **** with them. Only thing going to be done at this point is a new rear bumper and a paint job at some point.

I hate tinted headlights. Harley headlights, PTM grill and bumper. That would look sweet. Just my opinion though. It does look good the way it is.

No rubbing? What back space and rim specs? I'm getting rubbing with a leveling kit and 35s but my rims have 4.5in back space.

No rubbing issues at all.

Its been years since we put the wheels on, but IIRC it has 5" backspacing on the wheels.

The only thing I would change on ours would be 4wd. Not an issue in Houston where we bought it, but resale takes a hit anywhere else. At 75mph it does right at 19-19.5mpg. We did 1 350 mile run at 65mph and it was hand calculated slightly below 22mpg. In town it did 13ish. All of those numbers are with AC, so maybe a little higher without it, but thats not going to be the case most of the year for you.

I would own either a 7.3 or a 6.0. But, 7.3 Excursions seem to be more expensive as people are still hesitant on the 6.0.

Ford guy gets the same basic mileage I get well before.the 40". I would without a doubt get a 7.3 over a 6.0. They are easier to work on and if you leave them sort of stock is they are stupid reliable. Parts are everywhere.

My wife isn't in need of big power... Kinda torn on which motor to go for. I know the 6.0 can be successful when done properly, but at the same time a 7.3 will run forever.

Because I'm so far out of the loop of 6.0s, besides the HGs what items become red flags at high mileage? HPOPs, injectors, ect...

I guess I'm wondering why not a 7.3 with some basic mods?
