Will a DashDAQ XL work for me?

I have an 09 6.4 that I just put 5" exhaust and an AFE intake on and tuned with one of Eric's Livewires. As everyone knows Livewires are suboptimal for monitoring the truck. I have an opportunity to buy a DashDAQ XL. It was on a gasser before and I don't think it has the extended package for Ford. Can I buy the extended package for a used unit? Is it worth it without the Ford package? Will it at least monitor pyro, boost and trans for now? What is the difference between an XL and a series II?

It will work, but you will be limited to the basic signal options. I know several people use DashDAQ's for monitoring. Maybe they will chime in with what you will be able to monitor without the Ford license.

You can monitor alot without the license. It is upwards of 60 pids. If there are any you would like to know if it has, I can look. I monitor ECT, EOT, trans, boost, back pressure, egt, fuel rail pressure, pluse width, and tc slip.

An actual owner beat me to it, but I remember someone buying a used one a while back, calling DrewTech, and getting instructions to open it up to like 60 PIDs.
