I have a 2003 F250 with a 7.3. 370,000 miles on it. When I shut it off yesterday and tried to start it back up, it would only spin and spin but not fire off. Tried to start it with starting fluid. It tied to start but wouldn’t. It sat for roughly 5-10 minutes and then fired right up and I haven’t had an issue since! I know it could probably be 100 different things? This is the 1st and only time it has done like this. It happened years ago and it wound up being a ground wire issue! It’s a good truck but thinking now, about getting rid of it! Any thoughts?

Do you have a scanner ?? Could be something as simple as a battery connection issue or battery. How old are they?

All connectors and batteries are new! I’ve got a friend who has a scanner. I am going to let him hook it up and see what’s there. No dash codes came up. I called him about it and he asked me, when I tried to crank it, was the tachometer moving. When I called him back to let him hear it, it fired right up! Imagine that! Once I get the scan readings, I will post here. Thanks
