I'm getting ready to put amsoil synthetic ATF in my rebuilt zf5 but not sure if zf6 takes the same.

:whs: Mobil 1 synthetic ATF in both the trans and t-case. 6 quarts for the trans and 3 for the t-case

X3.........

My +330k mile ZF6 was chewing pilot up bearings every 10k miles, so I just replaced it with a Midwest Trans. Shifts like a new truck now! FWIW, it's had Mobil 1 in it since 100k miles and has towed at max GCVW with more power than stock most of its life - and I only clutch 1rst gear.

I ran whatever came in it till 170K. Then I did a drain and fill with autozone semi synthetic. No difference. Maybe I should have went with full synthetic

I'm gonna drive it tommorow. I'll tell you how it shifts. But going from a junk trans to a new one will probably be a big difference anyway. I went with amsoil for the price vs royal purple and it is approved for warranty use in allison trans and most all chevy and dodge transmission as well as a few fords that take ATF.
