Zf5 preload questions

Does anyone know if you can adjust tge preload on the input shaft bearings on a zf5 without tearing the whole thing apart? Just got the transmission back from being rebuilt and in neutral the input shaft won't turn by hand. Thinking there is too much preload on the bearing.

You can't. Case has to be torn apart.

I don't know if I would mess with it. Can you put a pair of pliers on it and then turn it with a little bit of leverage.

If nothing else I would call the shop that rebuilt it and ask them. You start to mess with it and odds are your warranty that you might have on it will go out the window.

It can turn with some leverage. I wish there was a warranty. I had a class at my tech college do it.

Maybe the class can do some more homework on it to improve their checkout/troubleshooting skills.

Shouldn't make that much of a difference, but does it have fluid in it yet?
If it's out of spec, I would definitely have it fixed first.
