they didn't run aluminum end tanks until the 6.0, but i'll agree that they are intermittent through 01, I've seen numerous build dates with both, everything that I've seen after '01 has plastic, get your hands on an aluminum one if you can.

I run a 6.0 cooler on both of my 7.3's and I think they're well worth the $. Plowing driveways is about the hardest thing you'll ever ask a tranny to do and my work truck runs low temps even doing that.

If you do pull the oil cooler, make sure you change the o rings between the cooler and the end caps also. This could be where your leak is.

Torque to spec. .. :naughty: just run it back in with the impact until it's tight, you'll be fine

I shaved a short 15/16 down about a 1/2 inch and could get an impact gun on it with only the fan and shroud removed.

With a combination of instrument panel and lights I would be leaning towards a leaky windshield issue. Do your radio and blower act up also?
