I did that with old Spartan 310 tunes and stock turbos. What's it max out at 65 not including barometric pressure? I can't recall off of the top of my head. But if that's the number that's not too awful bad, I'm sure with your 73 you made over 40 lbs....

ebp sensor maxes at 72 psi on the mm so 86psi actual. boost was 43psi at the time.

That's pretty close to what I saw 2-3 years ago on stock turbos with the older Spartan tuning. This is why it's good to have an actually bp gauge if you have any money invested in your truck because we really have no idea if you're making 72lbs of back pressure or 92lbs of back pressure. Regardless, you haven't even hit a 2:1 ratio. Its not ideal to be that high but Its not completely off the charts. I make about 20lbs more bp than boost right now. Before a bunch of testing with the gates I'd see 60-65lbs and peg a 100lb back pressure gauge.... Talk about scary

i was speaking in past tense. it was only like that for about 2500 miles. i now have different turbos and a gate. 68 ebp is the most i ever see on the mm now. 48-50 psi boost.

Great info guys

Just to clarify, I'm not wanting/needing the largest drop in atmo. I'm really just wanting something to keep my modding addiction satisfied and ultimately to lower quarter mile times. And I'm not wanting to spend a ton of money on just a charger that I'm not even gonna be able to use after I build my engine. So a 72 or 72 would be just fine for now. If tgere was a cheap used 75 or 76 in the classifieds I would also be interested in that.

Two questions
Why cant I find the barder 73 with out the hp? Can you only buy them together and not just the 73?

Madman, what would you consider an "actual" bp guage? Does any one offer a bp guage that already has the correction factor or whatever? (psi)?

I'm completly stock fuel and running a 76/59 with no complaints. And while I agree that a stock housing vgt will only do flow so much( from what I have gathered 800 ish is about all it will do) but with that said I know Mike did 723 on stock fuel on high powers(76/62) and jared rice did 816 or so with the rcd 75/59(with 60%nozzles on a dragon fire single hpfp. And if your worried about ebp just gate it to the dp.

Jared did 816 with 60s and a 72mm on Rudys dyno back in fall of 2012.

What I meant by an "actual" bp gauge is either the upgraded sensor that you can add to a dashdaq or an actual gauge in the truck. I have a couple gauges in my truck, nothing over the top, but if you plan to do any modifications that can significantly increase your boost or back pressure, and you're maxing out the factory sensors, you should have something capable of monitoring those parameters.

If your making this a race truck in the future i would get a single 66 or 67 fmw kit and be happy for now. Then once your ready to go fast i would do a remote mount 88 with dual fuelers and 100 percent nozzles. That way your not buying two different sets of turbos.

Thank you for your input.

That to me would be the best "long term" option but what are guys runnin in the 1/4 with stock fuel and a 67?

Also I keep seeing "fmw" what does that stand for!!? Freaky male whore??

You're never going to be sub 12 seconds with stock fuel and no nitrous. I'm pretty sure no one has done it. But what he said is what I was getting at before. A 66-67mm and add a turbo down the road like an 88

Fmw is forged milled wheel. They are super strong and light faster. From what i gather a 67 fmw lights as fast as a 62 but makes almost the power of a 72.
