Anyone try using the coolant lines off the EGR as a source to run your coolant filtration setup?

It seems like it would be an ideal place to get your coolant flow, filter then return to the upper EGR coolant port on the top/front of the block.

I was thinking use block off plates or a full egr delete depending on your off-road desires. Then instead of plugging the block just use the present coolant flow for the EGR as your filtration supply/return.

The coolant flow diagram is on page 2-3 of the 6.4 coolant library in the tech section.
Any experience on this or why it wouldn't work???

I actually thought about it during my delete, but I would have to either buy a new heater hose or a straight fitting for it. You will either need to get reducers for hoses or bigger fittings along with longer hoses for the filter adapter. More flow is good though.
Some of the hoses being plastic I am not a fan, so removing as much of them as possible makes me happy.
Eitehr way be gentle with them, plastic and heat can make them brittle.

I figured to use the hose coming off the horizontal rear cooler hose as the source. Just get a longer piece of hose, to a filter head. Then out to the steel line on the front return.

I know that, -30's in MN makes things very brittle.
