I remember seeing that dude in the greenish Psa t shirt trying to break up the fight by the pull, when the dudes were dragging the one guy outta the 7.3. it was an AWESOME event! My truck was the green/silver 6.4 by the sled track near where the 3-6fights happened. Not a good place to park.. Lol

Had a great time at the event. Would have been nice to see that Dmax break into the 5s tho. The fights were good comedic relief in between the pulls haha. My truck was the all black 6.0 backed up to the track at the 150 marker

Once again another great event held by Aaron and the guys at Rudy's. I hate to say it but I think they might've outgrown piedmont.

I was thinkin the same thing...plus it'd be really bad ass to see some 4 wide diesel drags at zmax

Ok the guy in the green PSA shirt was me. Idk why but it seemed like everywhere I walked someone was hitting somebody and we would try to somewhat break it up do everyone could have a good time.... then I got hit by the big suburban and then all bets were off.... had a great time other than the riff raff who can't handle their alcohol and just have a good time

Any of y'all see the kid in the green truck on the back of the pulling track start power braking it and slid over into some people? Somebody then drug him out of the door, couldn't see what happened after they got him out but from what I saw he got what he deserved for hitting those folks with his truck

I was with Sniper32 at the 150ft mark. It was a great event. Didn't really see anyone that I didn't already know.

I was right there when the fight happened with the guy in the 7.3. Looked like some guy got him in a headlock and pulled him out of the truck the 3-4 guys pounded on him for 5 or so seconds the he got up, jumped in the truck and hid like a bitch. Some guy what yelling at him threw the passenger side window. Saying how he shouldn't be out here showing his ass like that. I think it was one of the guys he hit. He had a grey 6.4 Btw. Idk if its anyone on here.

It was. He made a 6.20 pass leaving soft and peddling it at the end of the track, and then broke something on the next pass. I never made it back over to talk with him after that, so I'm not sure what broke. Sounded drivetrain related.

While I 100% agree that the event needs another venue, you better be careful what you wish for wanting it at Z-max. They are sticklers there about tech and safety and general racer courtesy. They wouldn't let half the trucks that were racing yesterday run without a helmet, a lot of them would have to have driveshaft loops, etc, and a good number of them would need cages. Depending on the event and payouts, they likely wouldn't let folks run with antifreeze either. The dumbasses running with mud caked all over the trucks and water in the beds would not be tolerated at all. It would certainly make it a lot more difficult for the average redneck to roll up and start racing. But hey, maybe that's a good thing.

And I don't know for sure if Z-max has a sled track or not. I doubt they'd put one in just for this event.

I'd vote for it to be at Rockingham. The track is awesome (super wide, LONG shutdown, and 1/4 mile), and it is a VERY nice facility with plenty of seating and bathrooms. It'd also be easy to separate the racers/pullers parking from the spectators parking (which is a major problem at Piedmont with this many folks) because they have hundreds of acres of parking space. And I think they have a pulling track down there, too (or at least plenty of space to put one in).

That reminds me of something else that's out-of-hand at this event: ATVs and bikes riding around. It should absolutely be cut out except for racers that use them to pull the trucks back. I've been to lots of big race events, and I've never seen one that allows any old Joe to bring in their ATVs and drive around like dumbasses all day. I was almost hit by one on several occasions, and I personally saw 2 that ran into trucks. Completely unacceptable.

Yes! He slid into not one but two boys! The guy that got hit by the truck pulled the douche out of the truck and threw him on the ground and started beating him! People broke it up and then the second guy that got hit started yelling at him again (this was after the guy that hit him got back in the truck and rolled up the windows and was trying to leave but everyone blocked him from moving) cops came and talked to everyone of them! Supposedly the guy that was doing the power braking acted like he had a gun and was going to shoot them both and anyone who blocked the way! There was one guy with long blonde/brown kinky looking hair and he was in EVERY fight next to the pull! He should have been booted out along with all the other hard asses who fought!

My thanks to Aaron, his entire "Rudy's Diesel" Crew and the staff at "Piedomont Dragway" for puting this event on. My Son and I drag raced in the 7.70 class.

This is definitely getting to be a large event and with that will come the problems associated with it. Having put on much smaller events like this and helping at very large diesel events I understand what goes on.

I agree with PSA Member sneaky98 and a few others that the amount of ATV's, trucks etc. just "riding around" was causing alot of problems for the racers. It was hard to even get out of your pit area and get to staging!
If that could be eliminated it would help alot.

Anyway,...thanks again to Aaron and his crew and the drag race staff for puting this event on.
