Any ideas guys. On the frame rail you have the factory fuel filter setup. Can you remove that whole assembly and replace it with say a FASS system or another brand? If you can will the stock wire harrness work? Or does it have to be modified? It is such a pain in the butt to change the filter on the 4x4 model, and from what I have been told the FASS system is a lot better on filtration? I need to start working on the fuel system anyway and I want the best.
Thanks

Removing the factory setup is a good idea IMO. An AD or FASS will mount on a 6.4, but IMHO your best bet is an A-1000 such as from Marty's Diesel (see Vendor section for pics) or a Fuel Lab. Contact Morgan (Sledpull) for that one if you need one ASAP.

Is the only reason to delete the fuel bowl so you don't have to buy both filters anymore?

Yeah and it cleans up the engine bay if you are only running 1 HPFP. If you go to dual fuelers, it becomes a restriction.

Pretty sure testing was done on this and it was proven that the factory bowl was not a restriction.

B585Ford, the A1000 or fuel lab. Will my harness plug in to it? The frame rail fuel filter setup 7s called a fuel bowl? Why? What are you talking about cleaning up the engine bay? Do you remove the filter assy from the engine.

If you are referring to Wayne's testing, I thought that was with 1 HPFP, not dual fuelers. I guess I will have to look that back up.

Marty's kit should provide everything you need. If you are interested in the Fuel Lab, you should send a PM to Morgan (Sledpull) or Side Action (in a few weeks - they haven't release their version yet). Since Fuel Lab doesn't offer an official kit for the 6.4 at this time, I suspect Morgan provides a connector, but IDK for sure. BTW here is a suggestion. When you do a LP system, I would suggest plumming a gauge into it. I just did that on mine and it already came in handy. I had to replace my HPFP because it was taking a ch#t at only 60k miles and I am religious about maintenance. I am sure bad fuel was the biggest factor, but I wondered if I had upgraded my LP system before, would it have prevented this. Anyways, just had Marty's kit installed along with a "new" reman HPFP. Long story short, when they dropped the cab, my truck wouldn't stay running. After rechecks and making sure there was no air in the line, that gauge provided a quick tool to confirm the LP wasn't the problem. After discussing the results with Ford, Ford agreed the new HPFP was bad and is sending a replacement. I will feel more comfortable when driving knowing exactly what fuel pressure my HPFP is receiving.
