I can second that a stock 6.7 tows so much better than any other vehicle I have had. If you want a project, then it sounds like a bunch of fun. If it's simply looking for towing, a 6.7 is amazing even in stock trim.

If you are burning coolant then you likely cracked your egr cooler. That whole chain of events usually starts when the oil cooler gets clogged and overheats everything downstream. Burning the coolant isn't good for cylinder pressures either. It can cause blown head gaskets. I would check to see...

I guess I do not see why tuning is not recommended on a non dleted truck. And that is why I am making inquiries. If it isn't worth it, or the risk is higher, obviously I wouldn't do it.
