If you can do 4l60/4l80E you will be able to the 4r100.. Just like any auto trans, have to check clearances in drums after clutches & steels are in place. Like mentioned above builder didn't replace pressure plate with thinner one, or selective snap ring to get proper clearances.

I know how you feel about the gauge cluster looking, with the 2 smaller ones on outside of tach and speedo. Why not just a 7.3 cluster like that style. My truck is an 02 and my cluster is styled liek the one you want, Speedo-Tach in center, and 4 smaller ones on outside..
