    The STC fitting didn't have a lot of slop in it. Do they sell just the internal o-ring, or is it only the piece that bolts on top of the HPOP and snaps in that they sell? And I understand gaskets can be cheap, but the rubber valve cover gaskets seem to hold up rather well and there's no reason...

    Follow up question, do I need to change the o-ring/gasket on the HPOP cover, or can I re-use the old one (I know about the RTV in the corners). Also, turbo drain tube o-rings? Change out or leave alone? And last, the internatl o-ring in the STC fitting (03 truck). If there's no visual issue...

    I've never looked at the difference in the 7.3 and early 6.0 models. Do the plugs match up? If they do, it would be worth a shot, but lots of wiring changed when they went to the newer motor, so who knows.

    I haven't taken a close look, but now that I know the EGR cooler won't be going back in, I did glance under the hood to see how hard/easy it would be to remove the passenger side up pipe. Just glancing at it, it appears to have a heat shield tack welded to the pipe. I guess just pop that off...

    Thanks. I saw the RTV when I pulled the cover and my first thought was it had been replaced before. What's the reasoning behind only needing a dab in the corners and the gasket works the rest of the way around? Is something machined wrong? Doesn't make much sense as to why most of the gasket...

    Does the 17 not have the option of running the vehicle health report that gives you oil percentage life left? That's a lot of oil changes. I usually change my oil every 6 weeks or so and thought I changed mine a lot.
