I had mine done at Mass Diesel up in Bellingham, MA. Scott is a good guy and the guys spinning the wrenches know what they are doing, you could shoot him an email to get a quote, but that price of $2500 for labor sound pretty reasonable.

There is another shop a little closer to you in Assonet, MA that seems to have a good rep, I have no personal experience with them though. https://www.facebook.com/NathansGarage?ref=ts&fref=ts

Another good shop, but a little ways from home is Joe Wermer's (SICKS LITER on here) at Affinity Auto in Salem, NH. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Affinity-Auto-Repair/503100579703522

Just received an offer from a buddy to have full use of his shop for as long as i need, and he has a two post lift.

Decisions to make I guess. Am I completely nuts to try it? I am not a moron, and can swap parts, I'm just not a mechanic/genius like most of you.

Opinions?

If you have a quote for $1800 bucks I personally wouldn't even think of picking up my wrenches. Especially if your in school, sounds like your a busy dude. I'd give the headache to the ford tech, $1800 is a steal for you IMO.

Myself, I'd be doing the work, if nothing else for the learning experience. Though, I would want someone who has done the job on call or by my side to help out as well.

I'm starting not to like you.....

Lol

Damn you!! :gethim:

oh well... KCCO :D

My buddy did it for me (we were supposed to do it together, but the time never worked out correctly). Said he had ~ 8 hours total into the job and cut me a break on pricing. I was very grateful! Trust me, if you guys have seen my posts from the work/time I've had my truck at the Ford dealers... I've paid my dues and then some.

Yeah, I remember you having a nightmare nonstop with dealers lol.

I would love to do it for the learning experience. Im just torn up.

Just got a really competitive price from Mass Diesel. Scott seems like a good and knowledgeable guy. Im thinking of dropping it to him this weekend coming up and just letting him handle it.

If you got a good price from Scott then I would go there. He has been around for years in the diesel world and has a nation wide rep (mostly with the cummins trucks) and knows his stuff, and all the guys working under him know their stuff too.

He took care of my truck back about 4 years ago when it gave up, its been solid ever since. I've gone back to Scott for my yearly inspections and if I need motor work again that I can't do it'll go back to Mass Diesel.

That you have!!

1800$ for me. But that was a great deal when business was a bit slow. Think of other stuff to upgrade while the cabs off. Down pipe/ RR fuel system/ uppipes/ newer turbo drain line. Stuff like that

I had to go with a blocked off egr from bulletproof. I have smog tests so it couldn't just disappear. Lol.

The only thing I want to do is a down pipe. Gunna have to order one up quick. Whatever cheapass did the exhaust before I got it did a 4" to the downpipe and left that alone.

Nice looking truck! Out of curiosity, what tires do you have? I have the same wheels, but I like the looks of your setup better.

They are 305/55/20 goodyear duratracs. They're expensive as balls lol but insane in the snow, while being great on the highway.

And thanks guys, I love the regular cab but lack of space sucks. Just put in a chest box for some more storage. Poor truck needs a waxing also, it's been a long winter.

There ya go, should be in good hands!! I'd love to have a regular cab to go along with the crew cab.

I might have to sneak by this weekend and steel her tires :lookaround:
