Assembled except for the Bracket in the middle of the Brake Line:

The truck is about 2" lower in that picture, but from my measurements it should settle at least another 1/2" if not more. It hasn't been moved yet so the suspension hasn't been cycled.

Now comes the fun part...the rear suspension!

I haven't messed with the coil sprung front end on these trucks but what holds the spacers in under the coil?

The lower spring perch has a raised center section. The spacers have a hole in the middle and drop over it, they can't go anywhere.

You keep tempting me with one of these DJM kits, Dennis. I'm pretty sure I would have to get a different wheel option though. My 22x10.5's with a lot of backspacing already rub the inner fender in the right conditions. I think some 20x9's would be better if I end up doing the DJM drop.

Looks great man!

Very cool Dennis. You need that spinny thing from Zane.

You will like it.
:lookaround: :naughty:

Thanks, I can't wait to see it done.

This weekends progress...

Rear Axle Freed of Springs and Driveline:

This is the front hanger for the rear leaf springs. This would be my nemesis this weekend. Used to be we could just knock off the rivets and off it came...
11999564_546938178790867_3327438950647877051_o.jpg

Starting in 2008 Ford decided they needed to weld the hanger on. It doesn't look like that much weld, but it goes about 75% around the hanger and it's not all easy to get to:

An air chisel makes quick work of the rivets, had all 8 of them removed in less than 10 minutes:

After getting the first one off, thought it would be interesting to see the difference in the old and the new mounting points. There are 2 to pick from in the new mount. You can also see all of the area I had to grind weld from in this shot too:

Passenger side after getting the hanger off. All in all, it probably took me 3-4 hours just to get these off the frame:

Driver Side painted and the new hanger mounted:

Some of the leaf spring pack NOT going back on the truck. The overload has to be removed or it will be constantly hitting the frame pads. The flat bottom bar had to be removed on my dually to get the ride height I wanted, so I went ahead and pulled it from this truck...hoping I don't have to take it apart a second time:

Modified spring pack hung in place. Need a new front mounting bolt and nut for both sides as I had to get them really hot to get them off the truck. One Up Offroad traction bar kit going in as well, so I need to get into that kit and get the axle bottom plate and U-Bolts so I can attach the springs to the axle again. Getting close:

Thanks! Felt like an 80yo man going home last night but the progress felt really good. Hopefully I will have it on the ground under it's own weight before the end of the week.

^Az is the best for that lol. I would love a ride in it when you're finished! Should ride like a caddy....

Think you'll need a firmer shock in the back?

LOL! I love the fact that my stuff doesn't rust!

I don't think I will need a firmer shock, but I will end up having to measure the shock mounts (center to center sitting at ride height) and order different ones just because there won't be much travel left in these.

I got the OUO u-bolts and traction bar plates bolted up last night so I could set the truck on the ground. Right now it's sitting about .5-.75" higher in the back than in the front, but the truck hasn't been driven to settle everything down yet. Looks to have dropped right at about 3.5" so far in the back. I hate the fact that these trucks don't sit level (side to side) from the factory. It's looking like I might need to remove one of the spacers I installed on the passenger side front to level it out. Going to have to get the truck out and drive it, then take measurements, before I can make that decision.

As it sits right now...won't get to touch it for a few days:

that is the exact reason why i was asking earlier how the spacers go in.. with a full tank of fuel, i have 2 inches of drop from side to side... pisses me off..
