I've had my spearco for like 8 years with no issues. They did update the end tanks before I even got mine...and I have the updated version. They welded bars inside the end tank to keep them from ballooning out

I'm glad to hear y'all tanks are good and no problems. To be honest I like the cast but I wish I had polished lol. It might most supposavly hold up as good. (That's what tsd told me) but I love the look better.

Did y'all get the piping with it or use stock piping. I already have Mbrp intercooler pipes they have great grip. And if y'all have a radiator do y'all have the tubing? And is it thicker or have more grip?

That's what I've heard they did was ballon out.
Good to hear yours are holding up. That was my second choice in intercoolers. Just the price got me on the spearco. And the mishimoto lifetime warranty.

Almost 7/8" wider core and the cast tanks are twice as thick as the non cast ones were are a good start plus the lifeting warranty that includes collision made me change my mind from getting a Spearco.

The stock coolant reservoir cap is set to blow at 16psi, so the system under normal conditions won't really be anywhere near there. You have other issues that need to be addressed if you coolant system is pressurizing beyond that. I have NEVER seen a coolant hose blow off.

Ive never had it happen, but i could see it happen with a 6.0 with problems. I even have a coolant filter so i get no contaiminates. Ive almost seen a f150s hose come off. If there wasnt a leak in the radiator im sure it would of come off. Ive never seen water and coolant boil so much and so much pressure come out of a coolant bottle. It was overheating really bad.

Hey guys,

Figured we would jump in to answer a few questions!

Who has these mishimoto products and how do they run?
How much cooler is the truck and how much better is the turbo running ?
What are your egts, cfm, coolant temp? How much of a difference did it make In your performance , such as horse power and lap times? Is mishimoto better than sperco? Or banks?

Our intercoolers are designed to reduce intake temperatures, EGT's and support high horsepower/torque trucks. Increased boost results in higher temperatures which necessitates an improved heat exchanger. With the use of a thicker, more dense, bar-and-plate core we have achieved a product that supports stock and highly modified trucks.

Ive sold a lot of the Mishimoto stuff both 6.0 and 6.4, all my customers have been very happy with them. I don't have any actual test numbers from any of them but again, they were all happy with the outcome of the upgrade.

Shoot me a PM or email if you decide you need some pricing.

Thanks Josh, great to hear!

Have you had anyone use the warranty to get a new one?
I've heard they are one of the best cooling products out there such as radiators and intercoolers.

Mishimoto comes with a lifetime warranty on their radiators and intercoolers

We are very confident in the design, performance, and reliability of our products which is why we offer a lifetime warranty on all of our products. If you do have a concern about a product, our top-notch customer service team is always prepared to field questions and provide assistance.

When did they change to cast ends? Lol

The intercooler I got when they first came out was welded end tanks. They held and are still holding 60 psi. They are ballooned out a tad tho.

It was a really thin core too

The cast end tanks are within the last year I want to say. They new ones are very robust. Core size is HUGE compared to stock. Love the one in my truck.

Thanks for noticing the updates to our 6.0L intercooler! We are always interested in improving our products and take any chance we get to make our products more effective for our customers. This does not imply that we had any issues with the previous version of this product. We updated the 6.0L cooler with thick cast end tanks and a thicker bar-and-plate core for a few reasons. First, we are able to provide improvements in flow with a smooth internal end tank. Also, the one piece end tank design and material thickness provides even greater durability than our previous offering. This new cooler is virtually indestructible and we've tested these units to 125 psi without issue. The upgrade core size and composition provides higher power support as well as improved heat transfer.

Do you mean damage as far as the radiator getting smashed or hit? I see why that would require a police report. Warranty should cover manufacturers defects not smashing the thing like an idiot. If they want to cover a smashed rad as long as there is a P/R I see that as pretty generous.

Thanks! Our warranty program is designed to protect the customer as well as ourselves. If the item is defective we require a proof of purchase, product serial number, as well as a few images of the failure. In most cases, we do not require that the old unit be returned. Physical damage to a product is tough to gauge, damage could be inflicted during an improper installation or improper handling of the product. To protect ourselves, we require a police report for any accident damage warranty claims.

here are some pics next to a Sperco. is it a bigger core than that now?

Not sure what the core thickness is on the Spearco unit, our thickness is 3.35" which we found to fit perfectly and provide the efficiency needed for both stock and modified trucks. Although core thickness is a key component for heat transfer, keep in mind that core composition and fin density also play key roles in reducing intake temperatures.

Haven't had any problems with mine. But the new mishimoto looks nice

Thanks!

I would assume they are now including the inlet/outlet and brackets in the new dimension.

Correct! Our new dimensions include the brackets attached to to the end tanks as well. Our new intercooler design provides a core thickness of 3.35".

Ive never had it happen, but i could see it happen with a 6.0 with problems. I even have a coolant filter so i get no contaiminates. Ive almost seen a f150s hose come off. It is certainly possible for an old coolant hose to blow off or split under factory pressure if it is aged. That being said, it may be wise to investigate further into the issue as we all know the 6.0L is prone to H/G issues.

Have you seen a drop in coolant temps from the radiator? If so how much?
Are you mishimoto radiator hoses thicker than stock? or have better grip?

bro, wtf is better grip. That **** gets clamped down. But anyways, mishimoto's radiator hoses are a large upgrade over stock.
