6.4 air filter

Quick question 08 6.4 work truck deleted with sct3015r on tow setting. Truck runs perfect it is 100% work rig keeps setting change air filter lite under acceleration. Never had the issue before tuner and delete,Has new filter. I think factory air box simply does not flow enough. Is there a solution to factory air box? or will I be forced to an aftermarket?

Correct, the stock filter doesn't flow enough. Check out no limit fabrication for an intake. Imo and probably most of the members here its the best on the market. Pm bigrpowr he is the owner of no limit he will take care of you.

You might try trimming the outermost portion off of the lid, allowing the filter to pull air in from the engine compartment. Just don't trim off the tab that holds the filter in place. It worked on mine until I upgraded from stock turbos. You still might gain more power, better response, or whatever from aftermarket, but this might buy you time if your piggy bank is empty

Maybe try trimming the air box itself and also using a drop in Afe filter. I'm sure if its a work truck you prob don't want to spend anymore money than you need to on it.

I bought an afe drop in filter and cut a big rectangle out of my airbox lid. Works great, never moved the filter minder

AFE drop-in doesn't pull the filter minder on H&S 300HD or Gearheads race tune.

I have the AFE drop in filter. Works great. Wont pull the filter minder in unless I am towing and towing HARD pulling 18000+. Even then pulls it in about 50%. The stokc filter would pull the filter minder in towing with the truck all stock.

Thank you for the input I ordered a AFE drop in. I'll give it a shot was not looking for any hp truck is used on and off road. Only reason for the tuner the dpf was bad again and it was out of warranty now.
