Have you thought about a billet 75? We've had several trucks over 800 on fuel with those paired with 59's

http://www.midwestdieselauto.com/64-turbochargers.html

Let me know if there is anything your curious about or pricing.

I just checked it out how does it compare to the 76 spool up and durability wise? Also debating on nozzles and a mild cam whats your thoughts

I am on the fence if everything checks out okay gonna wing it and go without hd pistons. I've spent way more than i planned to and still got a few pricey things in the want list while the cab is off lol.

Well, personally I don't know that the 75 has to "live up" to anything comparable for "durability" or being proven. The 75 has been out for just as long as any other. In fact it's been proven to make big power on a lot of different trucks. As much or more than any other large factory appearing atmo currently available. The vgt is truly what makes spool up good. When you put a 59 11blade billet in combination with the 75mm (which is the only one available with a larger higher flowing turbine) you have a recipe for 800+ hp.

Just going by numbers, ie; wheel measurements and blade arrangement alone there isn't a turbo like it that's comparable.

Sure there will be certain people that will try and argue. But I'm only using facts and direct comparisons. Opinions are like a**holes.

Off that topic,

With what your doing, I'd run a stage 1 cam, 30% nozzles, and dual fuelers to take advantage of the rest of your setup.

I am not sure if you caught it, but Morgan was referring to running 30% with dual fuelers. Obviously, that is a big difference than running 30% with 1 HPFP.

Yep dual fuelers are definitely needed. You could wait and run it on a low pw tune till you have the cash to add duals later on. Good thing about our dual fuelers is that they install very easily with cab on and removal of turbos or intake is not necessary.

Yeah I'm gonna have to wait on the dual fuelers for now. Definitely want them

Excellent question. From what I have read over the years, you will get varying opinions on that one. There are definitely some very knowledgeable guys who are big advocates of cutting the PW and running bigger nozzles, but when JD did some testing on that they lost a little powa up top but had more down low and ran a little cooler when cruising with bigger nozzles. He never got do live tuning which may have helped.

For what its worth, I am in the same boat, I wanted to duals now, but it just wasn't in the budget. I plan to do pistons before I step up to duals and will probably swap my 15%s for 30%s when I do (and do a cam and different VGT). Since I tow and spool up is important, that is why I decided to go ahead and give the 15%s a shot now....plus I was curious if I could fine tune it enough to get it to make gains.

Not much, little custom tuning will help. Some guys have reported and extra 30hp or so with custom tuned 30% and stock pump.

But at least doing them now will be easier than cab on when doing the dual fuelers. I guess is the main advantage now

Hey Morgan when u mentioned the stage 2 cam vs stage 1 what differences does each make and how much diff between 1 and 2 and can both be used with stock lifters and stock length hd pushrods

Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

They are both "drop in" the stage one is a re-grind, the stage 2 is a new billet cam. Stage 2 is $300 more but has no core charge. The 2 has a hair more lift and duration than the stage 1. Both will work just fine with stock components.

Got the new front cover on and the mpd plate on and it looks awesome. Took the heads to the machine shop this morning should have them back next week.
