exactly how do you spend $10g in the bottom end? the rods are $2500 fire ring kit is $500, a girdle is $500, a block fill is under $100
do you just keep $5000 in cash in the pan?

Some 238/80s have hit 500 or a hair over. Without tons of time in live tuning, which isnt cheap. Junkie had track times at 550 with 250/80s but he had the truck supported for way more power, headers, etc....

In most instances you need a hybrid of 238+ and at least 80 over nozzles to even think about 500hp.

Lol at 38r being a "not so awesome" turbo.

It's hard to do a fill in an apartment? I travel for a living dude

And a hypermax girdle is over $2k.

Figure in about $1000 for a rebuild kit. $2900 for rods, $2500 for a girdle, add in misc bearings and what have you $500. Lets say $2000 on the highend for delipped, valve reliefed, and ceramic coated tops and DFL skirts. Throw in some H11 studs, that's what? $850-900? So that's $8900 roughly. With machine work and labor on the half fill you're already at $10k. I'm wanting to start anew with a superduty block. Little more meat. If I could justify a hypermax block I'd roll with that, but only a small group of guys are running them and no street driven trucks that I'm aware of. Hard to justify with questionable longevity.

Hypermax doesn't make a girdle. They got kinda angry when I asked the one day when I stopped in there. "If the mains need more strength a thin piece of junk steel isnt going to address the issue". Ok. Sorry! LOL

They only sell a bedplate and iirc its 3500 dollars before you mod an oilpan to work with it.

rebuild kit with delipped pistons was $1300 (adding valve reliefs isnt more then a couple hun) stock pistons are the only game in town so you cant spend here
rods were $2400
girdle was $600
arps for the heads were $565
fire ring kit $500
= $5365

still need a dampner at $600
if my machinist charges $4000 I am going to be pissed

Well your parts choice and my parts choice are clearly not the same. And that's a steal on the pistons and rebuild kit. The same pistons from swamps are over $2k. Did you have a local machineshop do it?
