I haven't posted here for a while but I got the front end all done and aligned. Everything turned out well. Brad you were right on the hardware. I will have to get it swapped out at some point. I also got the snow plow mount modified and installed. I still have to get the wiring for the plow lights finished up. I have relays and new plugs for the lights so all I have to do is flip a switch to get the plow lights on.

I found a new rear bumper for it at my parents house also. I need to get the old bumper and the brackets modified and get it mounted up.

No but it is rusting pretty bad now. To make it what I wanted it to be would have cost a lot and it wasn't worth it. I am liking this truck I can take it out and beat on it and not worry. If something happens to it I am not out a lot and can park it and drive the 6.0.

Just out of curiosity? Why rebuild an put all that work into the Ttb? Surely a d60 is not hard to find in you area?

They are not hard to find but I am one of those stupid people that actually likes the TTB axle. They have a great turning radius and when are in good shape they ride good. They are also quite strong. Plenty strong enough for what I am doing.

If I am going to put a straight axle in this truck I am going to put super duty axles in it. I want to have rear disk brakes if I go to that much trouble.

I had to do some work to it the other day. The water pump started leaking on it so I got one of those and I picked up a new fuel pump as long as I was that far into it. I got all that installed and it up and running again with no issues.

I was cruising craigslist yesterday and ran across a brand new fender for sale. I stopped in and looked at it and ended up scoring that and a valance for $40.

rofl @ the oil pressure gauge :) some things never change. I had an 84 5.0 in a bronco and an 86 5.8 in an f250, all had crappy oil pressure until about 1500 rpms. Loved those old trucks, good luck with it!

Ford factory gauges of that era are a joke. That gauge comes on with 8psi (at least on a diesel) and then flucuates because of a resistor so that it seems like its actually reading something. It basically tells you have have at least 8psi oil pressure, but nothing else. Same with the water temp.

83-86 trucks FTW!

It has been a while since I have posted in this thread but I have done a bunch of stuff to the truck since the last post. Most recently I put a dual core radiator in it and an HD fan clutch and an upgraded transmission cooler. I have been using it to plow at every snow fall.

The cheep distributor I bought failed and I replaced it with a Mallory brand one. I replaced the rear wheel cylinders because one blew out. I am sure I am missing some stuff but it keeps running.

Here are some recent pictures of it.

I was sick of the plow tripping all the time so I added 2 more springs to it.

It has been a while since I posted in this thread. I have been working on it all summer when I have time. The worn out 351 came out of it and I got a fuel injected 351 out of a 93 f350. I was hoping to just throw it in but that changed after I got the engine out of the donor truck. I ended up putting rod and main bearings, timing chain and all the gaskets in the new engine. I also needed the oil pan and headers off of the engine from the truck. I finally got the engine all finished up and set in the truck then I tore into the wiring harness from the donor truck. It took me about 6 hours to sort through all of those wires and yesterday I laid them in the truck and started hooking them up. I was pretty happy when I went to fire it up and it started. Now I have to button up the wiring and finish hooking up a few things and the truck will be back on the road for the first time since May.

I got the truck fired up on friday and took it for a test drive on saturday. I have a few small things to button up and the truck will be on the road full time again. I am taking it to work tomorrow to see how that goes but I don't expect any issues.
