I believe Mike had a stock one just from seeing the pictures a while back.
And there are a few tools that make things much easier - Slide hammer to pull the pump, band clamps for the pump, dowels for the pump, and a handle for the drum assemblies
could it be done with out them?

We use suncoast clutches, raybestos style. Billet input and intermediate for sure. But if you're drag racing it I would give a hard thought to the OD planetary. It takes a lot of abuse and I have seen them break on stock powered trucks. And as previously stated if you're truck pulling I would do the billet low/rev. Generally if you can afford it I would do all. And precision converters are the best way to go for sure. I've seen the suncoasts not hold up to big power. Never had a problem with precision. We do sell all the parts necessary if you need them.
The first thing I broke was a low reverse hub. First hook after my turbos. If your trucks a job one it my be a four pinion. What's the build date on your truck?

What would be a good stall speed for a converter? Normal stall, 2000, or 2500?
If you doing stock style compounds I would go 16-1800. If your doing a single or big non vgt compounds I would go higher.
4 pinion is fine once switched to billet. The cost to switch it to five and all the associated parts would be thousands of dollars. Would be better to just find a newer trans.
You haven't broken a single part for over 3 years?
Billet intermediate and a billet input. You have a 5 pinion planetary if you decide to go billet but the low reverse hub and planetary aernt something I've seen fail like the intermediate and input.
