Anyone ever got stuck in 4th gear?

I thought I read some where that the 5r has an adaptive system on it. Just cuz it was on the Internet doesn't make it true huh? :lol:
Yes, it does have an adaptive system. It does not learn driving styles.

What is does learn is how long each shift takes from when the TCM commands the shift until it measures that the shift has completed. It compares this time to the shift time programmed into the TCM. It then stores a pressure adjustment for the next time it makes that shift. Driving style has nothing to do with it.

It's weird how when you baby a truck for awhile and then pound on it the Trans has no idea what to do...

Or after a couple of high rpm runs how the truck wants to stay Revved out the next couple shifts

Ah thanks guys. That's a bit more clear and makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification. Still a noob learning :shrug:
