Hi, I'm a new recruit to the army.
I just bought a 2010 Ford F250 at auction. It was supposed to be running and driving. Technically it did run but only on 7 cylinders and it did drive if you only wanted to go in a straight line cause the steering box input shaft was busted. Codes told me that the #8 cylinder had checked out. Oh ya, someone stole the DPF too.
I picked up another steering box and limped the truck down to the shop and I pulled the driver side valve cover the #8 exhaust rocker was off the fulcrum plate and the ball bearing was just laying there. The push rod looked ok. I pulled the rest of the rocker plate and found the intake push rod was bent. The piece of the head gasket that the push rod goes through was distorted on the intake side so I opened it up a little with another rod and now when I turn over the engine the push rod and lifter move smoothly. So I just ordered a new rocker assembly and a pair of push rods and bridges. If all goes well I'll be starting it up soon.
While I'm waiting for parts I'll be pulling the EGR valve and coolers and installing the DPF delete pipe.
I took some pics along the way and will post them if I can figure out how...
