I haven't tried. Don't wanna cause more damage then what's already done.

Sucks brother! I hate to see all these issues after we dump enough money in them to buy new trucks. I guess we play, we pay! Best of luck.....

We are 99% sure it's a piston... Started it yesterday, pulled of the oil fill cap and it just pumps air out like crazy. Runs ok except the one miss. As well my turbos need to be rebuilt. When the piston cracked it pressurized my oil pan and blew oil backwards through the drains ruining the seals in all 3. I'm hoping my block is ok.

We are unsure if it's a crack or a hole... Either way we need to find out if it was the tune I was running or a injector hung open. I have a hard time believing it was the tune considering I was only half throttle, but anything is possible.

So on to rebuild number 2.

sounds like an injector stuck open to me, terrible to hear after such a long wait. But, like anything, you will figure it out and motor through it just takes some time and money. Good luck man, hoping for the best its a simple issue. Only reason im not a fan of just a nozzle swap on a common rail injector.

Usually those seals don't go bad , they are just positive pressure seals , so even if ouo gets by they remain fine. Guess its worth it to check , but prolly fine.

Thats why I was asking if the injectors were new. But I didn't want to even mention an injector getting hung open on your new pistons. Either way it can all be fixed one way or another i guess, and it is one awesome display of craftsmanship. The way everything is run so clean and flows together is amazing. I hope it can be fixed somewhat easy and you can get it back to running and kicking some a$$ again soon.

Any update on this?

Learning about TDI's.

Just waiting on some $$ to come in so I can pay for the repairs. I'm hoping to have it running in a month or so.

It has been tough without it. I was working at the car show we had in town, seeing all the cars and letting my ego have a little fun. Knowing I would have had the most trick under hood compartment... Besides the John Force funny cars that were in display lol.

Just saw this sorry to hear Ryan

So what was the verdict?

There is a hole or a crack or something in a piston. Still haven't tore it down yet to know exact damage.

Other then the large amount of air pumping out of the crank case filler and the slight miss it runs pretty smooth.

Ah okay, well hopefully the cylinder is good to go and a new piston and injector will be all it needs.

Yeah hopefully the cylinder is good but I will have to do a full rotating assembly. It was previously all balanced with each other. Just a piston would *** **** up... So I've been told.
