im getting pistons and since there a fractured rod ive heard i need to also buy new rods but i have also heard you do not does anyone have info on this? thanks

I reused mine. Twice. No problems. I did see a video from a ford master tech saying they needed replaced after each use just recently though.

Not saying you're wrong because I've never bought a short block.

I reused one rod when I cracked a piston. That was at 47000 miles. I'm at 120k now. And its seen some good power

When your torque it down then take it off. That is one "use"

I know it's a goofy set of terms and perhaps your definition mirrors mine in process, but the 6.4 has a PMR rod to clarify

check your twist, and center to center measurements. is they spec out? use them.

when i built my 6.4 in my 450 i bought new. they are not expensive for stockers

There powdered metal rods. But I agree I could see replacing the rod bolts.
