I had to have something that was compatible with the old axles and the new and I Bought them 2 years ago for cheap....lol

No it's more for degreasing it. You would have to run over it with a wire wheel. That's what I did on the dirtier parts of the frame

Any reason to convert to a 2005+ rear axle over the older ones? Are they really that much wider?
