Does anyone run a Go-Go solenoid or similar with their Suncoast Built Trans?

The Solenoid may need replaced. I've got plenty of my version here. I'd be happy to send one out to you if you find you still have the same issues

Absolute, my trans shop is of the opinion that the aftermarket direct drive solenoids are simply a stock solenoid "with the screw turned a 1/4 turn." Is there any validity to that?

I got the tuner back and loaded the updated IDP tune, along with their built trans tune. The engine trans is considerably crisper, especially off idle. The 1-2, 2-3, and 5-6 trans are gang busters, they shift nice and confident and firm. But I've still got a flare-up on the 3-5. I tried increasing line pressure by 10% on the tuner just for the 3-5 and it made the problem worse. The trans got stuck in 5th and I had to stop on the side of the road and reprogram.

I'm very curious about the direct drive solenoid, I want to try reinstalling my Go-Go solenoid against the advice of Suncoast...

My friend came down this morning and brought me my Go-Go solenoid. I put it in, and put 9qts of fresh fluid in. There was for sure some metallicness going on in the fluid, but the magnet didn't have much on it at all. Nowhere near the black sludge that it had when I dropped the pan at 65k on the stock trans to install the Go-Go solenoid. The Go-Go seems to have helped, but this trans still shifts weird, even with the IDP "built trans tune."

What fluid does everyone run with their built trans? Suncoast recommended regular ol Mercon Dextron III, which is what I told the trans shop put in. My buddy with the same setup went with Ford fluid. I'm tempted to take the truck to the dealer and have them do a hot flush with fresh fluid.

Ok, so after about 2 miles of driving, the Go-Go solenoid let out completely. I lost reverse, 5th, and 6th. After doing research, I am nearly 100% confident that my ****ing problem was with the fluid that Suncoast recommended. Who knows what damage to the clutches I've caused at this point, but tomorrow morning at 9am I've got an appt at the dealer for a hot flush with Mercon LV. I'll be reinstalling the original direct drive solenoid at the same time, since the Go-Go appears to have completely failed. I'll report back tomorrow.

they are just a mixture of 2 factory solenoids. I had better luck with factory solenoid and good tuning !

Well let it be a lesson to me, don't listen to Suncoast in regards to their fluid recommendation. I should have asked for his name, but he specifically said to use "regular Dextron Mercon III," which is what I believe killed the solenoids, which killed the trans. I reinstalled the stock direct drive solenoid this morning and same thing, no reverse, no 5th, codes P0766 and P2073. There is also a whirring sound coming from the trans at all times. Taking the truck to the trans shop on Monday, will post back with results. :fustrate:

Unfortunately, no. There is more involved than turning a screw. I wish though!

let me know if you need a replacement. I've had several customers with 6.4's and good tuning notice a difference with my solenoid over the latter. Be glad to help
