I've had both my ballasts fail on my retro's this year(1 year old). Not so impressed with quality, especially the harness where they crimped the terminals over the insulation and pretty much ended up making my own harness after all and cutting 90% of the crap out.

Going to try a retrofit kit from retrofit source so i can get a decent cutoff lines and not get flashed everwhere i go. Not to mention bulb, ballats, and harness look of a higher quality.

Had Retro in two trucks and had nothing but issues and then nothing but issues with the warranty. Had to buy a bulb first and then send mine in and if it was the issue he would refund my money. Got some DDM's and they have been great and light every time and so much cheaper.

Anyone have a parts list for a DMM kit for an 08 ?

I'm wondering if anything needs to be done to fool the smart junction box ?

Otherwise is it just the bulbs (H13 Bi Xenons), ballasts, relay harness and Hi/Low harness ?

Thanks

Only issues I have had with my DDM kits are where the harness plugs into the ballast. Moisture would get in there even with the rubber boot. Little Di-electric grease and have had zero problems since.

For the cost of the ebay kits, you can't beat them. I have two different ebay kits, one in my fogs and a set on my bronco. Better than the retros IMHO, no flicker, always on, they light up even when its -30 degrees and they cost 1/3 of the retrosolutions and the balast are half the size as well.

I had the same problem with there wiring harness. One by one they kept coming apart and I had to recrimp new ends. Also had the ballast problems as well as problems getting them warrentied.

What did you use for your headlights? I'm curious about the low beam only kits, it gets dark out here and I don't have fogs.

Anyone use Recon HID's? A buddy has 6000k in his silverado and I hate them. His low beams suck IMO.

I will be going 5000k eventually and am doing my research now.

DDM gets my vote. I have then in my headlights and both sets of fog lights. No problems for the past few years.

I have DDM and have a problem I'd say 1 out of 10 times one doesn't fire. I've heard a bad ground will cause this. I just ran a self tapper into the core support I wonder if I grinded it to bare metal if it'd fix my issues?

I extended the wire by soldering on about a 11" peice and grounded them right to the negative battery teeminal on each side... Never had my ddms not fire in 3 years

Thats nice, i thought they were a pretty nifty group(rave reviews between here and PSN) until i got a set for myself. If i wanted crap HID's, id get DDM. I bought retro's, and got DDM quality at Retro price. Just chinese made crap!

I'll try running the grounds to the main battery negative see if I have any luck.
