I'm just curious what some people on stock turbo trucks with just deletes, intake and tunes are seeing for the highest egt? I know on a pull last year I either maxed out the sensor or the mini max at 1712 or something like that, it just hit that temp and didn't climb any higher. What have others seen for temps

The pull was on Gearhead tunes

Typically the highest I hit is around mid 1400's

My truck it will spike high really quick then stay constant egt a little bit lower than what it maxed to. The highest egt I've seen was 1600 spinning sideways leaving a wawa, but that was the only time it's ever gone into the 1600's

1950-2100 EGT's climbing rolling hills from Arizona to California with the FX4 with blown uppipes and a blown EGR crossover total of 2100 or so miles seeing that temps. Just go the truck back today from fixing the pipes and man that thing is so quiet its the quietest out of the other two 6.4's I have.

I'm guessing I'm down closer to sea level than these other guys. Mine will slightly go over 1600 on really long pulls, not sure on the max but that's No Limit intake, exhaust, and HD300 tune

I just fixed a broken egr cross over pipe to, I kept it installed after the cab was off thinking I would use it for a waste gate in the future but you can look at the pic, it's useless now

Powerstroke man 6.4 what were you using to monitor egt?
And jd you're right, that number sounds more like the number I saw, I probably got higher than that cuz it took a bit for it to come down lol

I ran mine up before I did my stud work, always smelled coolant on mine and left a steam cloud in my wake from the coolant boiling on the manifold lol. Anyways took the heads off and no cracks hahah

This guy knows how to party. Ive flat lined my egt with my 08. High as the DD would read too many time to even venture a guess.

Legitimately wish I could have videos. I had it buried on the bottom of the speedo. Held it there when I glanced at gps I let off. I ran out of fuel bad. 2wd with 3.55's. And Florida interstates. And a dumazz idea. I know it held 1700 for 30+ seconds.

Highest 1400 ..
But I am lost as to what is the grey area and safe area.
Had the truck almost 6months and only had h&s hot selected three times; I let off when it got close to 1400.

I was just reading another thread and it sparked a question, which lead me here I thought this would be the best place to post..
The gentleman in the thread said a truck ( his or not unsure) would drop EGT temps to around 350 once in park, leading to no cool down time needed.
My question is, how do I know when the trucks cooled properly. As of right now at idle my truck is at 225-228 I let it cool to no less then 249 before I shut it off..
Is this over kill?

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure anything under 350 is fine.

I let it get under 300 and that doesn't take long at all. Waiting to get any lower is too time consuming for me
