After buying my SRP and talking to KC at DP, I am not liking this thread. Lol! Cory, how about I send you my SRP pump and have you go through it. Do you think you could do anything with it? I don't really need it and really just bought it to better understand the inner workings of modified pumps.
Is it good? Or you just want to have it checked out. When it comes to these piston pumps, there's honestly not much to them. It's just a matter of finding the balance of getting the most out of them without crossing the unreliable line.

It was a core pump sent into Tim's shop (PIS). The individual disassembled it before sending it in though. It seems to be complete, based on what I know (not much). It also looks to be in ok shape too. I agree that they are a very simple design, hense why they are used in power sprayers. Check out the SRP thread and you will see the pics I posted. I will post up much better pics from my light box at work when I have a chance.

Gothca. You just reminded me that Tim replied to my PM about a SRP pump.

Just check out that thread and let me know what you think. If you want a go at it, I would be more than happy to send it to you.

Any performance difference from the SRP? My SRP has 70k on it, wondering if I should leave it alone or not...

I never ran an SRP. I bought the SRP used and Dyno proven went thru the pump. I didn't want to deal with the horror stories of the SRPs coming apart or blowing seals. I assume it is just a SRP with Dyno proven fixes. So far so good after 1 year of daily use. The pump is supporting some B codes with 200% nozzles. Power is pulled way back so I have yet to really see how much power the pump will support. Doing some quick datalogs showed that the pump is moving some oil.

I've got 60k on mine. I've got no worries. If you have that many miles on it, just leave it alone. Most failures came much earlier in their life.

It's good to hear that you are having good results with the DP modified SRP, but I wish they would weigh in on these kinds of threads. I'm sure they think the forums are gay sometimes, but I think they can have a huge impact in situations like this. Everyone needs constant feedback to keep their product straight.

It's good to know. They do seem pretty preoccupied to answer questions these days. I assume they are overloaded with work or under staffed. When I went with DP I searched all over for threads or other information about any Honey Badger failures and could not find any information at that time. Unfortunately with any aftermarket diesel performance vendor you will have customers that are extremely happy and some that fall thru the cracks or had horrible experiences.

As far as making copies of hpops... The T500, Adrenaline, MB performance, and Jr pumps from what I dug up were all 20° swash plate pumps. As in they are using more stroke of the pistons to increase displacement. I have a funny feeling that they are all using the same supplier for those 20° plates as possibly those swash plates are from another hpop? The Srp1. 1 is the only stock housing pump with larger pistons which of course required a custom machined cylinder block.

Good post man. I'm going to measure the angle on my pump and see if they manipulate that along with piston diameter.

MB took my idea and ran with it. ;) DP does their own stuff, but they have had lots of failures. Just not many people post. I've bench tested just about all the competition.

I should say, seen all the results. I myself have not tested them personally.

They have all had failures. SRP probably the most as obviously it pushed him to close the door and unplug the phone. Terminator I have read has had a few. DP has a few now. I've seen pictures and videos of Adreneline hpop failures. Etc etc. Not sure about MB they are still new to the game. Also how many pumps were actually failures as a pump that filled injectors with debris or blew seals and leaked oil. How many failed "weak" pumps were misdiagnosed and were actually leaking injector seals, poor tuning, IPR issues etc.

I have my own line of HPOP's too, but this comment is of no way shape or form a sales pitch.

Not here yet. So I have to respect the rules and not promote while still trying to help.

Been open since 2009.
