On my way home the other night the truck just died for no reason while driving down the road. No CEL. Had it towed home.
I was able to mess with it and do some testing. I think that the HPOP is bad but want to confirm before I have to buy one.
What I found while cranking Engine RPM 150-175, ICP is 2-350 PSI, ICP DC is 64%.
After a really long crank with the battery charger on it I was able to get it to start, once started, Engine RPM 650, ICP psi 450, and ICP DC 64%.
I can rev the engine up and get My ICP psi to go up but my ICP DC stays at 64% all the time.
Once it stalled I was unable to get it to restart and end up with the same numbers above while cranking.
Also I checked the engine oil in the HPOP and its with in an inch from the plug, and the oil pan was low so I added oil to it.
Day two I pulled the IPR and cleaned inspect, made sure that the shuttle moved, tested the coil, then reinstalled.
The engine was cold, outside temp 0 degrees. The truck would start and run fine. ICP PSI 1000 while cranking. I let the engine run for awhile to let it warm up. Moved it around a little and it acted a little odd rpm and ICP would jump up and down. While it was running right I would step on the throttle and watch the ICP go to 2000+ psi a time or two didn't see any issues with building psi. It stalled and wouldn't restart. Bought a new IPR and installed. Ran truck around some more stalled, wouldn't restart. Engine now up to temp. Checked ICP psi 2-300 ICP DC 85% while cranking wont start.
My next step cap off the HPOP lines one at a time to figure which side to inspect, if no start cap both and see what ICP psi is at HPOP. If it starts with one side capped off pull corresponding VC.
When I pull the VC and look for leaks that will tell me that there is an injector leaking, pull inspect if orings are fine then the injector itself is bad correct?
Am I missing anything? Thanks Dave
