honestly for a pulling truck thats going to be high in the rpms I don't think a cam would be a bad idea

Need to know your ideal rpm range to decide on proper cam. I believe American Ride had the Elite stage II. Lubeowner could verify though. If I remember right it's efficient to 5000 rpm's. At that speed you should have a balanced rotating assembly though. Past stage 1 elite cam, and you need piston valve relief. You could easily get a cam kit with elite pistons if you're going this route. Something else to consider is intake manifold. The elite ported stock unit is great, but for Max flow you could go for the tunnel ram setup and mount the charger off the side of the engine. Steed speed manifolds would work perfect for that configuration. If you're going all-out then porting is a must on the heads, but it sounds like you have that covered. Oversized valves are available as are hardened seats. If you have Facebook you can check out elite diesel's page under "Parker's puller" gallery on the tunnel ram setup

The only problem i have with the intake is that the turbo has to be in the stock location i can get away with a turbo to big for the class there is ways around that but i cant have the turbo any where but the stock location on top of the motor

I'm working on the same thing As you twisted stroke. Trying to do the same thing but I'm trying to stay in the 2.6 class. I would have way to much in it, and to many people in the 3.0 class around here. im very interested what you do decide to do.

No love for the GTX series on the 6.4s? Ive yet to see one? Pretty sweet 3.0 turbo if you ask me, anyone have a compressor map for a bat-mo 475?

Did a dyno with the 42r and batmo 475 on two trucks with the same setup. Garett did 150 less HP and did not spool aswell

1100 + for 2.6 1400-1500 for 3.0 I recommend def a manual tranny and a hx60 or a good precision ball bearing charger if I'm gonna be serious about pulling

i know they are making 1200 plus but i have no other choose in less i use a plug on the charger

In the pulling world you can run clipped wheels rather then bushed turbos. Most are running way over 80mm wheels just clipped to meet rules.

According to track times the 75 does 1050 on fuel .... Also keep stock cam as no one has proved any gains from cams.. Ported heads probly aren't worth it either I have stock heads and intake on mine

Missing the reason behind cam profiles.... Moving the hp and trq to where the truck is ran on the track is extremely important on a pulling truck. Now take a ported head and match a cam with it and you have an even better performance gain in the end. To many people will buy a said cam and have joe blow port and polish (which polishing is the biggest snake oil one can spend time and money on) a set of heads and expect gains. You can have the said best cam profile and highest flowing heads and if they are not designed to co exist together you wont see benefits and in most cases end up going backwards. To run at the 3.0 level you need go past bolting parts on and expecting results every time.

Exactly.... You wont see the Batmo hype running on your top 3.0 trucks in the country. HX60 with proper upgrades for similar $ to a batmo will put down larger numbers every time... and stay in one piece.

Most organizations won't allow a step cover or clipped wheels anymore. Most now require the wheel to protrude 1/8th inch into the cover without taper.

thanks for sharing the info. I consider it verifying info I understood to be true. You also explained it in a very clear way.
