Didn't Mike Settlemire's truck make 750 HP with less air and nozzles that aren't even half the percentage over that 110's are? Seems like the amount of air and the large jump in injector size would bring another 150 HP to the table if tuned properly.

This is not true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!































My truck just did 750 :toast:...gonna make a whole lot more real soon.

My ring set is coming in tomorrow so hopefully I get the short block done and at least setting in the frame over the weekend. Thanks for all the nice words guys, I sure hope it holds up this time too. At least it was a bad injector that caused the problem and not my wrenching skills...On the bright side I'm getting some awesome experience...LOL.
I am gonna need some info on the best way to gate the maxpowers. I don't plan on spraying it so I think one gate is ok. Shane has gave me some good info on this just looking for others thoughts. Seems a single gate will leave some power on the table, but I don't know a lot about w/g's.
Shone how is your truck gated?

Also where do I get a down pipe flange for the 82?

You know Mike..this purchase really sparked my interest again. I have to put my mark on this truck and build....not going to go nuts..maybe 110's and a 90mil lung..who knows
maybe it's the rock and rye talkin'.

900 is a great goal...good luck... are you planning a tuning change or are you gonna stick with Eric

Idk I'm gonna start off with erics tune because I know how it handles just to get it all dialed in. To be honest I really like my kem 345 also, just dont think it has enough p/w to make the power the IDP tune will.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as your gating question, one gate should be fine. And since you have all that fuel from the 110s, you could prob just gate to the downpipe.

Highly doubt it, just about impossible to have it together and the bugs worked out by then. When i get it done will have to come let you see what you think

I talked with Tadd and thats how I plan on doing it. Basically it will be gated like was before with the 71.

I dont understand why you would want to gate completely around the turbos and waste all of that energy you put into it with larger nozzles/fuel. Unless the larger turbo causing BP problems and not the VGT. Why not gate around the small turbo and push that atmosphere? If the larger turbo is causing BP problems and causing you to gate around everything then maybe its time for a larger exhaust housing?

I have never messed with a w/g other than the one that was on my truck. I have a lot to learn, and can only go by what the guys who know and have done it tell me. I had a pretty good conversation with Tadd about it and he says it may leave 30hp or so on the table. With the ease of just running one gate and only loosing 30 hp I don't really see the down side. I may be wrong, if it doesn't work out good I can change it.

Dumping between stages is great but the lp turbo over speeds easily. Bigger housing is an option but fitting it requires some work. To effectively dump between stages you need an extra wastegate to control overall bp just incase, if usually gets used too. For the op, you already know this though, dump around both and you'll be fine. I've been running like that on my max powers, 110's and dual pumps for a few months so you will be fine. If you were building an all out race truck you'd want those 30hp but for reliability sake leaving them is going to cost less and be easier to set up.
