If you arent leaking boost, maybe your housings are too small? Hope you get it figured out, I want to see some big numbers!!

Until you have any experience with these turbos sit back, shut up and watch. With multiple ppl having these turbos and them making 60psi+ it's not the housing.

It may be time to get Tadd seriously involved cause I'm stumped.

Lol. All I'm doing is throwing out ideas, just like all of you who haven't guessed the problem yet. I want to see him get this thing running awesome and putting down big power just like all of you do.

at this point there isnt a ton of stuff to really check

Only thing i would do is verify that the back pressure sensor is working right check key on engine off should be atmospheric pressure

The gate may have too soft of springs in it, or the regulator needs to be adjusted so it opens only on the top end. What you might do is go with the heaviest springs and then try to crack the gate open at roughly 75 absolute back pressure but untill then keep it closed.

Check vgt duty cycle, im assuming its going to 7% where it should.

The gate being the the downpipe only needs to vent off the peak back pressure, I think part of the problem is by the time the truck starts to make boost you are already backing the back pressure down instead of holding it a little higher and allowing the vanes to open in the turbo and drive the atmospheric turbo..

My last thing is the cam, i dont know how these turbos respond to a cam. And i also don't know if this cam is designed to help generate back pressure? I think before we get too far into the cam we spend some extra time on the gating.

When does the back pressure get high 3000+ rpm?

I found it, it was a bad ebp sensor. I put a new one in the factory location (the previous was in the 6.0 mani). The gate was set at 82 overall before I changed it but with the new one was only making 52 psi ebp. Pretty much my old sensor was reading way high and when I adjusted my gate by it I had no drive pressure. Now I am gonna have to put the 1.4 bar springs back in the w/g to get the pressure up a little more.
Its a beast again!!!!

glad you found that, i was wondering

When the sensor goes bad you compound the effect with the gate by dumping the vanes way too soon

Glad you got it, i have wondered if the manifold is not a good spot for them

There's a difference between an educated guess and a blind assumption. Atleast he got it fixed and didn't drop a bunch of coin on parts he didn't need.

You did mention it Erik. I naturally assumed he replaced it when he built the engine. My bad there. Oh well. Fixed a few other simple things so he should be leaving black marks soon.

HHHmmmmm I remember someone asking about a sensor. LOL Glad to hear it was something simple.

I didn't think it was the sensor because key on engine off it read 111kpa 16psi
and it would run the whole cycle as usual. Im not sure it was bad or like Dustin said it may have been because it was in the mani. Idk I will try to get the springs changed tonight or tomorrow.
Also the sensor was new on my last build and was working fine when I tore it down.
Thanks again for all the help!
Hwy painting should resume tomorrow...maybe tonight...LOL

I have that sensor go bad after a couple of builds. Working fine then boom, no mas.
May want your child out of the cab if you hunt down the principles Challenger. He may not like getting beat by a truck. LOL
