Well this weekend we were able to get the excursion started up and running for the first time in about 3 months. motor sounds healthy, just waiting on a lower radiator hose. We also started messing around a little bit with the interior. our goal here is to get the full Harley interior into the truck, The front seats should just swap right in, so our concern has started with the rear seats. We don't want to just swap the bench seat in, we really want to be able to use the 2nd row as it came in the excursion so the seats will fold all the way down flat. so we started looking into that late last night...but heres a little preview.

well new lower radiator hose is in, truck runs and sounds good. Either today or tomorrow it will be headed off to our painter for step one: Step one will include a complete cleaning of the frame and under body, and we are going to use a texture coating on the frame, axles, under body ect. Truck is pretty clean, but but a little bit of an eye sore. While this is getting done, were waiting on parts for step two: Which is a complete front end conversion to the 2011+ front end. and somewhere in the mix of all that, we will be working on step 3 which is completing the interior swap over to the Harley interior.

Now the concept of this excursion is to create a 2011+ style Harley edition excursion. So my question is we are between 3 front end paint schemes, which do you guys like better. Personally im leaning towards the first option...

I like the first one also. The ptm grille surround and bumper look great!

definitely #!. ...plus modify headlights to similar style paint scheme of past harley edition headlights.

Its looking like number 1 is going to be the choice, as for the head lights, they are already I the works, I want to keep this as close to a Harley edition as possible, but we do want to dabble with the head lights a little. Most likely some type or retrofit projectors...

wasn't able to get this to the painter yesterday, but should be up there some point today. And some of the front end conversion parts started showing up.

still need
Hood
grille
bumpers

some more parts collected for this truck, got a grille coming, and a hood on the way. Left and Right Fenders showed up Friday.

just need some parts from for (wiper motor cowl ect) but those are not too far away.

looks like we should have this back from the painter later this week and then well start ripping the front end apart and get the conversion started. then finish up the interior and send it off to the detailer.

still waiting on more front end parts, but looks like truck should be back from getting the under side coated later tonight or tomorrow. Then well dig back into the interior and front end. Hope to have some serious progress on this truck this week.

ok some more update on this truck...I have been back and forth on weather I try and get the interior done first or the front end...and decided the front end has to get done between this week and next weekend.

that being said, should have the truck back from the painter today...under side complete, and all the body molding taken off the truck.

plan will be swap the turbo with a good one since the one that's on it is already out the door, just a stock one for now.

Then well start pulling the front end apart hopefully tonight if all goes well.

Il post up some pictures and details as we get into the front end conversion.

Heres a few pictures since we haven't really posted many as of yet, but now well try and keep this one up to date:

Truck came back from the painter Saturday night finally, under side looks great, all coated and cleaned up (il have to get some pics of that later today)

Decided to concentrate on the front end conversion then well finish up the interior. So yesterday we stripped the entire front end, and started cutting and trimming for the new front end. Didn't get as much progress done as we had hoped, but it was a start

very productive this weekend. Got all the body panels (minus the hood) bolted up and lined up, grille, bumpers, head lights, and fenders are just about ready to go to paint. Unfortunately we are delayed now because UPS decided to play soccer with the hood we ordered. Thanks to a member on the site, we should have another hood at the shop some time today. which means panels should be headed to paint some time tomorrow night.

heres some progress pictures.
