Hello Ladies and Gents! I have been part of this community for a decent amount of time now but i have lurked in the shadows of the forums. I am by no means a diesel tech or claim to be knowledgeable about diesels so i wont chime in if i have any uncertainty. I had an idea I think many would get a little kick out of so here it goes.
I am going to Dyno the truck and make a few passes in it while its in the current state described below. I will then install the parts I have sitting on the shelf, redyno and make a few passes. The game is to guess what kind of power and times it will run before any changes and then post changes.
My current setup and drivetrain/valvetrain condition:
-1999 f-350 Super Duty Dually 2WD.
-210,000, regular engine oil changes, never replaced injectors, turbo, seals, truck has been nothing but great to me.
-with the above being said, I fail to be proud of the following statement:I never changed trans fluid since i owned it
*** I bought truck at 160,000 for a whopping $4000 from a close family friend, he took immaculate care of truck BUT without exact remembrance of previous trans flush I decided to leave it, any grime/shavings/whatever that is in the trans fluid is preventing the bands from slipping(anymore than they are?)It's on my transmission places list to get freshened/built when time allows***(Now I will continue with the game, sorry, I felt the need to justify)
-3 inch down pipe to 4 inch back(Installed at 80,000)
-k&n intake(Installed 165,000)
-TS performance for a late 99(Installed 190,000)
-Boost fooler
-wastegate has been adjusted and on the floor ~ 26psi
-The truck has not towed often when I've owned it, i doubt very much with previous owner as well (my Old man owns an 06 f-350 SD Dually, Its newer and towing with that compared to this is night and day so we use his primarily)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following upgrades will be added:
-Irates T4 kit
-S468fmw
-SRP1.1
-Homegrown Regulated return
-ARP head studs
-Water/meth(More of a homemade deal)
-4inch turbo back
-valvesprings and shims(if i can get them)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So to answer the burning question, testing will be done on stock sticks.
Pre/post Track Guesses as Follows
Stock/"75hp"/"100hp"/"140hp" tunes:
60' =
330' =
660' time =
660' speed =
1320' time =
1320' speed =
Pre/post Power Guesses as Follows
Stock/"50hp"/"75hp"/"100hp"/"140hp" tunes:
HP =
Torque =
I will probably do an extra lick of track and dyno on the "150hp" tune with water/meth after. Hard to guess when I don't even know what I'm going to be throwing at it. Once the trans is gone through I will probably redyno as I'm curious how much it slips on decent tunes.
This may be a few week process, I travel for drag racing AND my dyno guy's dyno is broken at the moment, once that is fixed we will be underway.
