I have been running a 6466 Precision for the last few months, and have been pretty happy with it. I got it too hot for too long racing it one night and burnt up the bearings in it (totally my fault). I decided to go with the 6870 as a replacement. Picked truck up from Midwest on Friday with new turbo installed.

I am amazed at the way this turbo acts. It spools as fast as the smaller turbo, power comes on smoother, and it seems a lot stronger. Egt's are a little cooler too. Doesn't smoke any more than the 64.

At my altitude (650') It is absolutely a blast. At this point I wish I would have went with it in the first place.

It would be interesting to see the results of this thing on a built motor with injectors, like petes.

There you have it, don't waste your time with the 64! It's bad ass, but the 68 is better on all aspects IMO.

Thats awesome, at least some small good came of your other turbo taking a dump.

What turbine housing was on each turbo?

I believe the 64 had a .84, Don't know on the 68. I asked Morgan to get what he thought would be best. Maybe he or Jared can chime in.

I spec'ed Matt's 6870 out with an .84 Divided just like the 6466. That thing is so much fun to just "spirited drive". Its more responsive with the 6870 than the 6466, I honestly thing it was a restriction having that small of a turbine. This thing is so much fun, glad you're enjoying it. Thanks again Matt.

I probably would have gone with the 6870 if it was available when I got the 6466. Does the 6870 bolt into place of the 6466 kit or is the 6870 a completely different kit? I'd be tempted to dyno the 6466 and swap to a 6870 on my exact same setup to see the comparison.

This is a 6870 with an S Cover instead of the standard H Cover. It literally bolted right in where the 6466 was with NO modification

Call me when you're ready pumpkin!

Do it! You won't be sorry. I fully expected to lose drivability, and I really think it gained it. And man this thing pulls like a mf! I don't have a clue of what the power level is, but it is strong.

His will be an absolute animal. I'm stock injectors, valvetrain and bottom end. That video is on the 1850 PW tune, and I have a 2250 tune that I'm afraid to run. It seems so much stronger, I would hate to blow it up. it has more useful powerband. It spools faster than the 64, and pulls hard all the way though.

I commend Morgans tuning, because I can put it on stock (1025 PW) and run smoke free, and it still spools great, has a lot of power on the low end, it just don't have the top end, but it will still absolutely blow the doors off of a stock 16.

I have had so many compliments on the sound, people say it sounds angry.

I am curious to see what Pete does on a dyno. I would bet 750+, but idk. I think he will be really happy he switched, just for the drivability.

Tadd's kit with the 6870 that you have and pete will have soon supposedly is picking up 80 rwhp on a bone stock truck according to what Jared and Tadd told me. So with Pete's dual fuel and 15% inj. he should see very bit of 750-ish all day

Ya Pete, you get yours yet? When you do, be careful and don't let it get away from you! If the road is the least bit wet, Traction control is your friend at 90 mph. Talk about making your butthole pucker.
