the only issue ive seen is the crimp spreading and unsealing from not having enough flex

The plastic end tanks are not really the problem directly. It's the crimp and/or o ring that holds them on. Welded aluminum end tanks would be a 100% cure. I'll have to wait to see if those ones are proven over time.

So they strengthened the weak end tanks? How did they go about doing that? And that doesn't cure the seal/crimp issue which to me is the only issue. Once someone gets one in their possession post up pics for us to see the difference.

I can get a new Ford one for alot less so I'm not sold on paying more for what looks to be the same thing until its proven.

Did you read this part? Looks like they reinforce the end tanks. Maybe this explains it better.

''Tank sealing system features an optimized crimp design that makes a positive seal between the tank and the core to securely fix the tank foot within the header groove. This provides a secure, long-life seal with more than double the seal life of traditional seals''.

All I saw was they strengthened the end tanks. Guess I missed that. But they mention it lasts twice as long as stock? Still not good enough. The one in my '02 is still the original. I want that reliability out of these radiators.

Seems like no one knows how to get a hold of this guy, I'm not sure how much truth there ever was to him making 6.4 radiators anyway, that was just what I was told by a couple people. If anything ever does come up I will let y'all know ASAP

i cant say im surprised, the guy who builds my cores basically did some investigating about the possibility of doing a radiator. after i brought him one, and it was drawn, there just wasnt a feasable option to make it cost effective. so much crap to do on top of cooling!

The big issue with this is making upper and lower connections to fit the factory hoses. I wish they would've just stuck to the simple hose clamps.

They look like something you could easily machine though. I haven't looked at it too closely in a while but from what I recall it doesn't seem that bad. Granted I know that will reflect in the final purchase price since it wouldn't be a simple outlet you could purchase elsewhere.

With all the issues with the radiators in our trucks, I would buy something that was much more than the stock radiator if I knew that it would be the last one that I would be purchasing. I think that someone whom could get one of these figured out will do well no matter what if the price is a little high. For the people that have gone though numerous radiatiors already, they would not blink an eye at a little more expensive radiator. Just my .02

Machining isn't an issue. Like dstryr said it is easy to spit out some parts, I'm sure they are all made the same but are they guaranteed not to leak? It would end up being very pricy for the producer if that happens.
What about someone having hoses made like most radiators and keep upper and lower parts male. It's 2 hoses you would have to change but I don't know the cons of it. There are also no worries of the hoses being set in all the way or forgetting the metal clip or better yet an o ring leaking, but like mentioned before... I don't know the downfall of doing that

I just replaced mine a couple months ago and still have the bad one in the box in my garage. There are crimping pliers you can buy that are specific to radiator tank crimps. I just couldn't find them in time to do mine before I had to replace it.

As a side note, I had 3 coolant leaks. One from the lower corner of the radiator, one from the coolant hose to the horizontal EGR cooler, and one from the coolant hose to the vertical EGR cooler. So mine got a new Ford radiator, and an EGR delete at the same time. No more leaks for now.

And if anybody near me needs a radiator, I can get Ford parts at 15% over dealer cost. My radiator was like $615, much less than the $800 or so that they want retail.
