J&K is a bit too geographically close to Cobb's Diesel for my comfort. Remember reading that PMM, also very close to Cobb's, denied there was any type of business relationship with them other than selling Cobb's parts? Turned out to be a little more involved than that.

I know Adam at FCDP had a real bad experience with Blackwater. I've also read of others who weren't entirely happy with what they received.

Only reason I'm interested in the results is to see if someone has found a good builder yet. The last 6.0 reman I've dealt with had cracked heads...the guy was not pleased to say the least.

If there was a market worth breaking into, we could do it.

We can do it on a case to case basis though, for short blocks anyway. Im not set-up to do long blocks.

But Odessa Cylinder head plus a short block from us would be a killer quality long block.

Well i felt for the price it is worth giving him a shot, everyone has to get into the industry somehow, he stated that he stands behind his product, and even though he said he would try and get one to me quick, he would not rush his process to sacrifice quality. However, i am also a beleive in talk only goes so far, so we will see what comes in the crate when i get it.

To answer the question on the cost, 3,100.00 for the short block, shipped, and a 300.00 core charge. although he did say he was going to raise the core charges as he priced this out for me a month ago, but said he would hold his deal to me.

So far i am very pleased with the transaction hope to have the motor end of next week. beggining of the following.

ok guys heres a litte update on the short block from JK engines, we got the whole new front cover assembly from ford, and transfered the HPOP, oil pan, ect. from the stock motor, this thing looks clean! So far i am very impressed with the work from JK, weve got the entire short block back into the excursion, and hopefully by the end of the day today or mid day tomorrow (pending on work schedules) the body should be ready to drop back down on the chassis....il post up some pics either tonight or tommorrow after my guys send em to me.

Victor Reinz gaskets are NOT factory parts like "Jack" said in your earlier post.
If he told you that they used all factory ford parts...thats bs.

And trust me...you wanna use ford parts when it comes to the front and rear crank seals, as well as head gaskets.

ok fellas: Heres the last update ive got on this thing-

500 Miles have been but on the new motor from J&K, we put new front covers and rear main seals on the short block, along with the fresh heads and injectors. We could not be happier with this set up. The motor runs great, and the truck runs strong over all. Owner was with out this truck for 6 months befor he brought it to us, and i got a call from him last night saying its just amazing, runs better then he remembers. For the price and customer service on this short block, we were very happy with everything, and jack was a good guy to deal with.
