After much hesitation, Im expecting to get some slag for this thread. I have had four exhausts on my 00 superduty over the years. Ive never thought any of them looked quite right. Last Sunday night I installed a 5" aluminized mbrp that I hit.with a scotchbrite pad and the tailpipe got some black rustoleum while everything else.got rustoleum 2000° paint. The vht was used initially but is veeery chalky and would come.off during handling.

I did not buy a tip yet. I have a lifted truck with wide rolling stock. I kinda.want to balance.that out but am not sure what it needs.

So post up what you have, obviously 5" exhausts would be better but beggars cant be choosers.

Heres where I am at:

I would leave it like that. No tip. I just have the standard 5in rolled tip that came with my mbrp kit.

I do like it this way but the pipe is inside the body. Ill have a black rear bumper too! Its gonna be like this.for a month or more anyway.

I found a gunmetal 5x6 12"long on ebay that looked pretty cool.

5-7" MBRP 18" or flo pro gloss rolled.

I only say 7" cause the trucks lifted and I think it'd look good. but 6" wouldn't be a bad choice either. I got a 5-6" 12" MBRP ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365778864.624088.jpg OLD pic

Sent looking at my blown up 6.4

Good ideas. Anybody seen the gunmetal ones before? Its kinda brownish but looks like it.was heated to.change the color.

I didnt plan to go bigger than 7" fwiw. My exhaust will be tucked up and in.

Just do a axle dump. I was in the same boat as you and nothing looked right. Got p!ssed one day because a hanger broke off and decided to cut it off over the axle. Done...Now I like that I cant see it, and the corner of my bumper isnt covered in soot anymore.

I am winding up with sooooo much black that I wanted to do chrome/clear lights to keep it.from looking murdered. Im leaving my ford emblems chromed but they'll be black instead of blue. Ptm bumpers. I plan to run a black grille with chrome/stainless mesh(07 style with a ptm bumper and pad clear 07 oem headlights). 08 mirrors with.chrome caps and clear markers. I already have clear recon.cab light, 3rd brake light, and clear led tails. Im trying to have.the truck black with some silver.accent. The motor is the opposite entirely. Thats my concept.fellas.

Motor im close on:

I know it seems corny but this truck has been around since new.and Ive maintained it.but never done.much to make it nice. My boy is.getting older and I want him to see me take care of what we have. I have a new truck but this is different.

That said ill take all this.input.into.consideration. Just wanted you to see where Im headed. Tentatively anyway. Spitshine the turd a little right?

Josh- I like that tip and the angle of exit. I hate exhaust the hangs below the bodyline and then exits perpendicular to boxside. Just dont like it.

I know Im being picky.and obsessive.but i just want it right.

I had a 7" slash cut tip on mine, looked good. Now I'm stacked, something about rolled tips are no bueno to me.
