As Im rounding up the last few things to start my build, the guy working on my truck was curious about the clutch tolerances. I bought an automatic transmission guide with all the OEM specs in it when I bought my input shaft from TCS.

Basically I need to know if the Elite Competition Rebuild kit goes by the same tolerances or if they have their own specs/measurements. Anyone from Elite, or the people the build transmissions with elite parts, the info would be a great help

I couldn't find any specs when I did my tranny.
I talked to sun coast ford tech and he gave me some spec's but I can remember what they were.

I do remember I didnt have to adjust anything, the packs were to spec out of the box.

Alright, thanks. The manual I have has all of the oem specs in it, but I didnt know if the aftermarket clutches made a difference. Hopefully someone from elite, or builds transmissions with elite components will chime in.

Well go figure, called elite with no answer, no returned calls. What a surprise. Called Rudys since thats where I bought the kit through, the guy on the phone stated all stock tolerances? Does this seem right?

If you are able to get this information please post it, when I did my comp rebuild kit I used factory specs and would like to know if it right.

Its just unreal that you can spend large sums of money with a company and have stuff like this happen. It took forever for the stuff to come in when I ordered it. I orered it through rudys, who I contacted 2 weeks after, and no shipping info had been sent to me, and rudy said they were waiting on elite for parts and if it didnt come in in two days to get a hold of him again. Parts come in, no instructions or specs for the parts.... Now no returned phone calls, like so many have had issues with before. Ive avoided buying things from them because of the complaints in the past, and I bought this comp rebuild kit because people claimed it was the best, and better than the suncoast kit. I even ordered it from rudys hoping I wouldnt have to deal with elite. Needless to say I will avoid buying Elite products from now on.

I'm less than 1000 miles on my rebuild and so far I like it, but I do need to get a custom tune my 3-5 shift is harsh.

How can you blame elite for Rudy's not having what you wanted in stock???? I ordered a comp kit and it took a week to ship out ( they told me it would ). I even had a slightly damaged clutch which was probably still usable but they offered to send me one two day air. Pretty Nice of them. I've also talked to them a couple times about a 6.7 turbo kit and have always been able to speak with someone. I just don't know if people don't actually try getting a hold of them or are just whiney but my experiences with elite have been good.

Most definitely not stock tolerances. Using different clutches with different numbers of clutches.

Gotta agree with above ^ if Rudy's didn't have it in stock why are you mad with elite.

I'll see what I can dig up on tolerances tomorrow.

Thanks jd.... The wait was because elite was waiting on something for the kit, and Im almost positive the kit came directly from Elite anyway. Its not that im mad because I waited, but I wasnt even notified about anything. Ive been saving parts for 3 years so waiting a few weeks isnt a huge deal. Before I bought this kit last fall I was leery on buying anything from Elite because of complaints about not being able to contact them about issues or help with parts that were bought from them. But it seemed like the material would be superior to what suncoast uses.

I appreciate the help JD, and sorry for the rant its just frustrating that an almost 1000 dollar kit wouldnt come with info on the specs and tolerances, and Id rather not screw up the trans 500 miles after a rebuild because I didnt ask for the right info before hand.

Have you installed your kit? And if so do you have the tolerence specs?

I understand being frustrated man. I'll make sure you get what you need as quick as I can. Waiting on a text back as we speak.
